If you won and everyone's cards were supposedly worth $25, you should have at least been able to pick which ones you wanted...

I would be totally bummed man. I would be STOKED if I won but those cards are totally BUNK!

If you would ever do it again, I would require a 3rd party or people on here to approve of the cards.

The card you put into the lot is probably equal to all of the cards you posted.

I was bored and looked up the last 4 months of past completed listings on all of these cards and this is what I came up with.

The Fielder has a sv of $15.00 to $20.00.
The Wong has a sv of $7.00 to $12.00.
The Pineda has a sv of $8.00 to $13.00.
The Pomeranz has a sv of $6.00 to $10.00.
The Montero has a sv of $7.00 to $10.00.
The Vizcaino and Jaso all have a sv of $6.00 to $10.00
The Crow has a sv of $2.00 to $4.00.

You can see that none of the cards sent in had a sv of $25.00 dollars.

Even considering that the SV is not based on prices today but when they were sent in... that still seems harsh. The Montero and Vizcaino were probably worth more in spring training...

I have seen one questioned asked and I just want to be sure I understand:

Who got the card you sent in?

EDIT: Are the crow and jaso ref? Not that it matters too much. Also, if they were added to other cards to get to 25, that makes a difference. Like if they sent the wong and the crow together.

The pineda and wong were probably more considerably more valuable in spring training - especially everyone who had their hopes set on Pineda in NY. I wonder if anyone sent in cards that increased in value, like a trout or fernando rodney (etc).

You do raise some good questions. I could only look as far back as july for completed listings.

It was an interesting league, and to answer a lot of questions on here, yes you could send in up to 2 cards to get to the $25 sale value. Cards were approved via an email thread. That is part of the risk you take in sending in cards in spring training. I had sent the Vizcaino and a 2010 BDPP Michael Choice auto, both of which were probably above $25 in sale value back then and actually thought they would be cards guys in the league would want to get and hold. To each their own though.

I don't know who got the card I sent in...but it wasn't the person in 1st place (myself), I can tell you that. The jaso is a ref and the crow appears to be a ref (but is not #ed or denoted as a ref anywhere), but neither of them were on any list as an entry (and rightfully so). Just going by the photobucket, it doesn't appear that any cards increased in value, but some cards held their value, while others plummeted to worthlessness. It appears I got all of the latter and none of the former.

I didn't really find the league to be that interesting...but that's beside the point.

I saw the photobucket with all of the stuff in it (minus 2 lots). My complaint is not about items holding/losing value. It's the fact that I came in first and was seemingly sent all the cards that currently hold the LEAST value (by far) and didn't receive 1 single card that still holds any value. In fact, I was only sent 1/2 of your lot as my winnings (the less valuable half).

I see you got the point about needing to reinstate the panini avatar.

On a brighter note I think I need both of those topps chrome autos,
if youd like to sell em.

Yes, point taken...loud and clear.

I am going to wait on moving anything from this "lot", until I get all of this cleared up.

I beat Chris Olds to win the championship in our free yahoo league, I wish we would have played for something instead of just fun. Maybe I would have won some free bling.

Well, I talked with the commish. Apparently, it is offensive of me to suggest any shenanigans.

I took a few minutes and looked up recent sales on what I got vs. the other people. Nothing huge here, but the principle is still the same.

Both 2nd and 3rd place got better cards than I did, for winning the league....I can't help but feel that I got a raw deal out of all of this

You should've gotten 2nd and 3rd combined (or majority of it). Then 1st(Plus remaining from 2nd and 3rd) should have been split between 2nd and 3rd place finishers

See if you can just play for cash next year, your fees should be paid by the commish for the way you were paid out here.

This I am definitely disappointed by. I was under the impression that first place participant was able to pick the lots that they wanted and then the second place finisher got to pick out of what was left and then third got whatever was leftover. That is pretty bunk if you ask me....
