Really though, I'm just glad I'm a very small time buyer. Had my one big "whoops" paying paypal gift for $8 and getting ripped off..and even then I pestered the guy every day for like 4 months until he sent the card. I've been lucky at times sure but there are some good folks here -manmade comes to mind, corbin, lakings, nodie, ooosh, josie, Clarka, the mods skell and fish, hazeofgreen, caljr...I could go on and on. Definitely good to be wary but there are still a lot of good guys and gals around here.

My opinion in relation to the Haiku email:


He is likely following this thread and perhaps the Barney Fifes are getting close, he wanted to send you in another direction. I wouldn't assume anything in the email is fact. I would ignore it and keep digging.

I do however, believe Jay Morgan is likely fictional. I would stop searching the Jay/Jae/Morgan Jae/Jay-z/JiggaMan trail and look elsewhere.

Still too early to tell (based on what I know for sure) but I never felt this was some super smart super thief. Always seemed like a scam of opportunity to me. Sure there is an element of covering your tracks and the like but any true pro would laugh at doing months of work for a $20k payout. Whether the email is true or not it is exactly how I thought this thing went down. A copule of schmuks or one schmuk with multiple screennames that caused a false scam to get a payday from Paypal. But that is just speculation of course.

True couldn't ID him in person, but to get this started there is always some trail, be it emails, transactions to other accounts, phone calls..anything. If Haiku truthfully gives up the other 3 guys in such a big money incident, these other 3 guys will be found out (like I said, all three have a paper trail due to many more BO transactions in the past not under the name Jay Morgan) and if the case gets big enough they could trace something on these guys to Haiku. Sure it's a little Haikuish, but pride goeth before the fall...if I rip a bunch of schmoes off for thousands I'm shutting my mouth and counting my lucky stars, not telling the world how I did it. F*&$ing amateurs.

I think there has to be an element of money laundering in this to make the risk worthwhile. But that is PURE SPECULATION.
