Default A really good eBay LOL, slightly long read ...

I hesitated to share this, just in case something backfired on me ... but I'm 99% sure I'm in the clear now, so here goes.

I had a card listed on eBay, had a price in mind that I would take for it ($85, for the record) ... and I got a $75 offer. I'm not desperate to sell, so I counter with $100. I receive a counter for $82.50, with a message: "C'mon man, help me out a little!" ... so I counter with $90 and "This is what I can get to." You know, just playing a little hardball is all.

I then get another counter ... for $60. And a note: "The last one on eBay sold for $48! Go look!" ... so I look, and it's a similar card but not the same. If you're keeping count, this is the buyer's final chance to offer.

So I counter back with $85, and tell the guy that this is what it's going to take to get the card. He declines. He then sends me a message: "Alright, I will pay you $75 PayPal for the card, please let me know". I tell him to get me his email address and I will send him an invoice ... for $80 (this matches what I wanted minus eBay fees).

Gets a little weird now. He sends me his cell number and says "give me a call". Yeah, not doing that. So I text him and ask for his email address. He says he can do $75 ... "that's all I've got in my account right now, please send the invoice to ______________, God will bless you for this."

"Wait, didn't you have $82.50 in your account just a few minutes ago?"

.........

"Send me an invoice for $80."

Any rational person would have backed away at this point, but hey ... the guy has fantastic feedback on eBay, and I figured I'm just as protected as I would be selling on Blowout (rimshot), so I go through with it. I noticed tonight that he has relisted the card on eBay, but based on the rest of his collection it looks like he's just showing off a little.

Anyway, thanks and God bless.

As bad as this sounds, it's very true, whenever you get any messages with "God Bless" as the opening or closing. It essentially means I am being dishonest with you and I am hoping that mentioning God will lead you to believe I am the most honest person in the world. Luckily for you, you got paid so its all good but still shady on the buyers behalf.

My guess is.........

What is NYMINTSPORTS w/ Cano /6.......

Card Collectors are the most religious people ever with all the God Bless stuff...

And yet the most jinxed ever considering everyone is in the hospital or at a funeral the day they are supposed to ship or pay for something.

God has a good sense of irony.

One could argue that religion is, but let's not start anything here...

Why can't people just be honest when making offers? Here's my offer. Looking for a bit more. This is the absolute most I can do. No thanks. Ok have a nice day.

That seems silly considering animals not on the intelligence level of human beings commit "evil deeds" based on natural instinct. Seems evil, besides being natural, is sourced in required possession, and jealousy thereafter.

Don't ask me how much I want to offer. Come with a price in mind. If I don't want it or think it's worth that, I will let you know.
