An excuse is something you say to avoid being blamed for something.

He's accepting the blame. That's why it's not an excuse.

You can't see what he's doing?

He's trying to play the emotional story to play off his shadiness. That's garbage.

Sorry to hear about this, Forgiven You're right. You can't trust nobody. Cash rules everything. Anyway, forget it about it and move on. It's F--kin' Friday!!! Go have a blast!

Well he said if I can beat it or math it then it's mine...

I was more interested in a cash card trade, and he actually almost bit my head off and told me he was tired of hearing all the low offers and that he doesn't even feel like selling the card anymore if he can;t get what he wants for it, or if someone can't come along and surpass the offer. So I didn't talk about it anymore....

Plus, when I heard you were the one the card was going to, I definitely didn't make any offers anymore, because I wouldn't do that. I did make a joke though and said that I would give him what I sold my Thomas for - $355! lmao I said it as a joke since he was tired of the low balls...

Well, if that's truly his intention, then he's a double douche.

Regardless, I think he was wrong, like I said in my first post.

How can it be a 'ploy' if he deservingly owns the card after completing a mutual agreement/transaction...?

To clarify a few points:

- Originally, I wasn't even trying to sell it. I mentioned to Gio that I was getting a Worthy Logoman and he threw me a great offer. I decided to PM a few other people to see if they had an offer.

- I specifically asked people to make me their best offer. It was never my intention for people to get into a bidding war.

- I regret directly PMing certain members. I should have just put it on eBay and let people offer what they wanted. I had no idea it was worth more than what I paid for it.

- When I realised what a bad situation I had created for myself, I considered just pretending the card never even arrived. That way I could hide myself from the repercussions. Instead, I decided to own up to Mike (forgiven) and apologise.

It's reassuring that one or two people can see that I tried to do the right thing, even if it was actually the wrong thing to do.

That's what I don't like about all of this.

If Will is truly sorry, then he would honor the original deal with forgiven1 and let forgiven1 and JP work out a deal.

If he is not willing to do that, then it's quite obvious he is just looking for the extra few hundred bucks he extorted from the back-and-forth on the deal...

I told you I was fed up of hearing offers because people kept offering more and more. That wasn't what I was looking for. I just wanted to hear people's best offers so that I could make a decision.

You made me an offer, then another offer, then another offer, then another offer.

Why not just make me your first offer right away?

As a result, it created an awkward situation (which was my own fault) whereby it looked like I was starting a bidding war, but I never wanted that to happen.

Sentimental value to someone else took over your logical thinking. Tarnishing your rep isn't worth $200 bucks.

You are 100% right.

Absolutely. Nice gestrure, but yeah I agree with tristan's sentiment above completely.

Actually my first offer was what I wanted to pay. But you were so good with your negotiation from day one, and told me you had high offers.... so what was I supposed to do? I made higher offers. Now looking back, I think my offers were too high, and actually glad I didn't blow that much money.

I was more interested in cash and cards deal, which you seemed ok to do, if it was the cards you wanted. You asked my about my Elgin Baylor letter patch card, and I THINK also the Bill Russell letter, not sure would have to look at the PM's. You definitely asked about the Baylor letter card though.

But once I knew the card was going to Forgiven, I stopped sending you any offers. I would have probably went in for the kill otherwise and offered you more than I wanted to. So glad Forgiven had stepped in wwith his offer, and I knew it was going to him, so I was some what relieved I didn't have to worry about getting this card anymore.

So it's a real shame not seeing this card going into Forgiven's collection. I actually thought he would have had it by now. Didn't know you gave him time to save up.

None of my business, but will the new owner or WillC say how much this card sold for?

The OP should leave a negative and contact the blowout mods to see if they feel any discipline is needed. Will to me came across as a good and knowledgeable member. I feel bad for forgiven.

So you told the OP if he offers more than 1k the card is his. He offers $100 over your 1000 price and you still countered him at $1200. If you needed $1200, why didn't you just say that instead of telling him offer more than 1,000 and its yours?

Then he accepts the $1200, and you tell him the next day its $1400. Again, screwing over the OP. He finally agrees to the additional rape session and takes the $1400 offer.

Then again, 2 weeks later, you tell him you sold it to someone else? This is just messed up.

I could buy your story if you accepted the 1100 offer and then decided to move it to the "#1 james worthy collector". But you screwed him over 2 times before that.

so how much did jp the james worthy collector pay for that card? it seems to me that you were using forgiven and jp as leverage against each other to pump up the card price.
