Default Scammed over a Bryce Harper SSP

Sorry, pissed off when I typed the post. I received the package already, no card, only 8 common 2013 Topps Heritage cards.

So, bought a card here on BO from a member...here are the PMs that I sent. RIght now I am pretty pissed off and opened a claim on paypal. I knew this was going to be trouble when he mentioned he had a friend who was a collector, who worked at the post office. I just can't understand why he would even let someone at the post office, especially if he knew the guy collected cards, know what he was shipping?? I will let you know who this guy is once he responds.

(Me Apr 2) Payment sent, please ship as soon as possible. I will leave you feedback when I get the card, please leave me feedback.

(Him Apr 2) thanks buddy Ill print a label out as soon as get payment and Ill package securely tonight and try to get out tomorrow. I work from 6am - 5pm sometimes in very rural areas which makes it hard to get to the PO during the day. But if I cant make it tomrrow Ill have my fiance drop it off the day after.
Thanks agan,

(Me 5 Apr - after paying immediately after deal was done on 2 Apr) Did you send the card?

(Him 5 Apr) yes buddy I droped it off at the post office personally yesterday after work. DC should have been emailed to you when I printed the label through paypal. If you can not access it LMK and I can get it for you. but its hard to do on my phone.

(Me + tracking info 11 Apr) You didn't take it to the post office until yesterday???

(Him 11 Apr) No I told you when I took it. I told you when I checked DC like u asked I didnt know why it hadnt moved. I even called the PO for you like said I would and talked to Mike. But then I got a temp suspension and my PM box was so full it was almost impossible to delete on my phone. In case you didnt know if you get a temp susp it severely limits how many messages you can have in your pm box. Anyway I spoke to Mike, a guy who I fequently chat with while going to my PO and a fellow collector and he told me he would personally check into it. Not sure what happened but im glad it updated cause i was gettin worried. I just tried to call Mike again and he is at lunch. But when I can get ahold of him I can probly give you more info than I currently have. I am very srry buddy I sent Thursday of lat week and have no idea why it just updated. This has happened befre but that was when I was dopping my mail in a box that icked u once a week and I didnt know it. This washanded directly to the PO. Not sure what else I can say man. Except I hope you enjoy the Harper and Iam very very sorry about this.

I don't see the scam. It says expected delivery by the 15th.

I am confused, if the expected delivery is on the 15th and today is the 13th why open a claim just yet?

Was the package opened or tampered with in anyway?

That sucks, sorry to hear that. You should be covered and get your money back. Let the community know who it was once you get it all worked out.

Hopefully if you had concerns, you filmed yourself opening the package...

If the package was tampered with, it's probably the PO's fault not the seller.

I am pretty confident I will be covered by paypal. Just pisses me off that someone like that is on this site. I am not naive, I know it happens, it's just wrong. The thing that got me was as soon as my wife handed me the package, I knew something was going to be wrong. The package had 8 common cards.

$120 isn't going to break the bank, but it is the principle of the whole thing.

Once this gets sorted out please let me know who (and reference this thread).

But given the weight differences - check the weight/shipping rate on the package (especially if this was done at the postal counter). There is a weight difference between 1 card and 8. Probably still under the 3 oz limit but if the weight is displayed on the label at that point its a postal office internal issue (theft) clear indication on where the fruad part is (and at that point how I direct my next round of questions/suggestions) - which start with turning in not only the paypal claim but mail fraud forms (which is done likely either way but you'll have more evidence on where the issue may of started).

Thanks for the info, I will open a claim on Monday. The shipping label was from eBay, so it is the standard 3 ozs.

I think the assumption is that originally it was 9 cards... And one was taken out. But presumably it was in a top loader. The weight should still be different, but the other way.

Only cards in a bubble mailer, no top loaders or card board. The last time I contacted him he was temporarily suspended, not sure why.

Default Update "Scammed over Bryce Harper - SSP"

This is my original post:

http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/b...arper-ssp.html

I submitted a paypal claim and paypal is going to refund my money. I provided them when a tracking number, this should complete the process.

This whole thing will have taken a total of about 1 1/2 months to resolve once the refund is completed. It is only $120 but it has been tied up in this transaction too long. It also cost me $6.95 to provide paypal tracking on the returned package.

The address provided by paypal is different from the address on the package I received, even the last name is different on the package I received, two letters transposed, not sure how many people misspell their last name.

I contacted my post office and filed a claim but of course, they could not find any information on what happened to the card. I also notified the US Post Office Consumer Affairs Section in VA. I was super proactive and tried to resolve this to the best of my ability. I am not going to try and explain what the other party did, that is up to him if he even wants to respond to this post. If a seller has suspicion that someone working at the post office, who is a "collector" may have tampered with their mail; wouldn't you do something about it?

You be the judge...negative feedback is being left for JamiMadrox

OP, your original thread never really explained what happened IMO. I guess I can discern, though, that you paid $120 for a Heritage Harper SSP error card, and you received a handful of base cards instead?

Received 8 base cards in a bubble mailer. Seller said that he had placed the card in a team bag. Team bag was missing, only 8 loose cards in package.

Gotta ask ... why were the base cards even in there? I guess those were supposed to be the protection for the SSP card?

That is what I was wondering, there was no protection other than the bubble mailer.
