Default Ever deal with ebay member jhal3561 ????

Have a card listed on Ebay with a high BIN to feel offers and is also a charity works listing. I received this message today.

Quote:
really interested in card. would you take 85.00 for it? if not what is lowest you would go? also would i be able to pay by sending paypal payment to your email?would pay through ebay but another member of my family screwed up the buy now option at the moment. could pay this wed when i get paid from work. please let me know. would also like to help those affected by the events in boston. thanks.
Usually I am not concerned about transactions without ebay as they still have the same 'Protection' benefits but the thing throwing me off is there are some false positives for his/her feedback rating on eBay for not paying. Assuming they are telling the truth and a family member was to blame, is there a way to send where I will be protected sufficiently?
I was thinking signature confirmation, maybe insurance. From the looks of it, they havent been trying to scam anyone per se.

Most likely wont go through with it, just interested in opinions.

I would not make a deal outside of eBay with this guy. Sounds a bit off.

If you have to ask whether or not you should do it... don't do it.

TheBurg has it right.
In my limited experience, people that ask for special consideration aren't worth the hassle.

I hate to bump an old thread, but this guy is back at it. Just contacted me today on eBay with the SAME EXACT STORY... Needless to say, I searched here and found this thread. Block this guy if you haven't already!

You can report them all day long and Ebay rarely will take action against a buyer.

I am still wondering what the reason is for him to try to avoid Ebay..

One thought is that he is being blocked by many sellers due to unpaid items so he is trying to buy them this way to get around the block.

Anyone who starts a deal on ebay and goes petty and greedy moves off of ebay, deserves the high hard one

"Oh,oh,oh...the fees.."
Same argument, people want the exposure without the cost.
Pathetic, greedy and shows that a person whom would do such WILL be able to justify dishonesty in other areas in my book.
