Default Weird situation need help

So yesterday I agreed to buy what I thought was a Visa $15 Gift card for $11 delivered. Seemed like a good deal to me. Today the seller messages me that the Gift Card actually has $21 dollars on it and wants me to send him more money to make it seem more fair. He says

"hey the card is actually a 21 dollar gift card. could u send me 4 more bucks? ur sstill geting 5 bucks off. its fine if not. my stupidity. heres what web says"

I responded to him that a deal was a deal in my eyes and if it's fine that I don't do that then I wouldn't. The guy gets rude with me then

"ok. ur getting 11 dollars free. whatever ur goin on the ignore list"

Then sends me two more messages finally saying "I'm going to refund you" with out me responding to him.

So I ask him

"What happened to this?

hey the card is actually a 21 dollar gift card. could u send me 4 more bucks? ur sstill geting 5 bucks off. its fine if not. my stupidity.

So now it's somehow my fault that you listed the card wrong and even though you said "its fine if not" you are now going to refund me? Why don't you just send me the card that we agreed to and not make this situation worse?"

his response...

"cuz im not giving away a free 10 dollars after i lost my job 2 days ago. at least send me 3 dollars. every liil bit helps to feed the family"

So gang what would you do here? Leave feedback? Not leave feedback?

The seller screwed up by not double checking the card's actual value before selling it to you. It's not your fault he was not smart enough to do that in the first place. He needs to learn that he needs to be more aware of the value of what he is selling before accepting another person's money. I would leave him negative feedback for taking your money and backing out of the deal.

To make matters worse he is insisting on me completing the trade before he sends me a refund. This guy isn't leaving me much choice here

Well it was his stupidity that he made a mistake. If I had done it I definitely wouldn't have gone off on you since it was my fault, but I don't see what the big deal was about sending an extra couple bucks. Maybe even split the difference. You pay $2 more. He eats $2.

You're right. It's a weird situation, but in this particular instance I probably wouldn't leave feedback at all. In my eyes it's a little different than a card transaction. Maybe I'm wrong though.

That doesn't make any sense. Was there more involved than just the card for paypal? If you haven't sent anything then just keep you money.

If you've already sent the $11 what does he mean by "completing the trade before he'll refund"?

"Every little bit helps to feed the family"? How about taking that $21 gift card, and buying some freaking food?

I can't STAND these idiots with their fake sob stories. This moron wanted some PayPal funds to buy something that he couldn't use the gift card for, nothing more, nothing less.

That's assuming there are ANY funds on that gift card when you receive it.

If you get the card and it is actually for $21 and usable (since you can go online and pay for things with just the card info), then a neutral explaining the details would be fair. I would also post the user for us all to block should we want.

The trade did not happen on this forum, The reason I posted this here was because I trust the members of this forum to give me an honest straight forward reasonable answer. I hope it was ok to ask this question here since it happened on another forum. If not mods please close

My immediate thought, too.

As far as I know grocery stores take VISA gift cards....so really he stole from himself by not just using the card to feed his family.

No trade happened on another forum not here. This was a strictly $11 purchase I made
