Default Beware of blowout member "Aubrey" / ebay member "flipthecard"

This member bought a sketch card from me on ebay here:

Proof they are connected (just in case he removed his ebay connection):




He filed a case on ebay claiming the card was damaged...here is what he wrote:

"Hi Good packaging the card was COMPLETELY DESTROYED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What happened ?? you did not even pack a cardboard in there ! Just the card? what were you thinking ???? its completely destroyed ! what the #@#@#@#@. HOW DO WE SOLVE THIS ? IF YOU WANT TO GET A REALLY NEGATIVE FEEDBACK AND I CONTACT EBAY, THEN FINE. OR YOU CAN DO SOMETHING TO RESOLVE THIS ! Best regards angry buyer FLIPTHECARD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-

I then sent him a message politely asking for scans of the damage.

He then replied with:

dont waste my time by taking pictures.
your packaging was #@#@#@#@ed up baaad !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the packaging was too bad, understand?
NOT the shipping.

You have 2 choices.

choice 1

Repay me the shipping charge (23.25 dollar)and i can call it even, card still destroyed.
I WILL LEAVE positive feedback.


choice 2

I WILL LEAVE negative on YOU and hopefully you will pack your precious cards better in the future and will not waste peoples time.

I contacted eBay this morning. This card was sent through the global shipping program so the eBay man told me I would not have to refund the shipping he requested because all packages are inspected before sent to the buyer. He said my packaging was perfect because they would not have sent the item otherwise. He then told me that he reported the buyer for feedback extortion and that any feedback left would be removed from my account. The eBay man i spoke with even apologized for the langauage used by this buyer.

I was then transferred to the global shipping program and the lady I spoke with confirmed everything the eBay man had told me. I was not at fault and that they would close the case and take care of it from there.

Please make sure you block this guy, he is bad news and as you can see above he is also a member here. Thanks!

I always laugh how they have time to call you out, but not take a picture of the damage.

Never understood this myself? How does one have time to type out a message but not snap a quick pic of said damage and card. Sheesh

A lot of people criticize the cost, and I'm not a user of it myself but glad to see the program actually worked the way it's suppose to.

Yeah, I am not sure if he is a scammer. I just found it really strange he only asked for a refund for shipping and not for the item. The card was $55 so why would he not want that money back if the card was completely destroyed?

right, I don't see any way out of this that the member in question can spin it in a positive light, so don't think I'm disagreeing with you.

It definitely looks like feedback extortion. And it must have worked quite a bit, considering most sellers probably didn't care about the 2-3 dollar refund for shipping just to make the headache go away.


OR- and this just came to me, perhaps they were asking for the shipping refund so they could send it back? If that's the case, they really need to learn how to convey ideas clearly.

The buyer was overseas, so he had to pay EMS shipping on top of the auction amount (guessing $2-$3), so he MAY have paid quite a bit to receive it. That may be why he is asking for that.

Regardless, eBay will cover you. Part of a sellers "buy in" for using EMS is because eBay is protecting us against this very problem.

I would really like to hear him explain himself. In the mean time I am blocking him and telling everyone I know to block him. If he/she cares to come in and explain himself maybe we would reconsider. So you have two options:

1. Explain yourself and we may be willing to back off and continue to buy/sell from you if your response is satisfactory

2. If he doesn't respond I'm going to go viral and send an e-mail message to hundreds of people and make sure nobody buys from this guy, ever.
