no i don't mean that you can't leave feedback because you deleted the PM. here's what I mean:

-You make a deal via PM.
-Everything goes smoothly, and you use the PM link for the feedback.
-Weeks or months down the road, you clean out your PMs and delete them.

Does that nullify the PM link in the feedback?

I had no idea people are randomly making trades through pms without a thread. Just link the thread you saw the card in from what ever section. If you see it in a box break thread link that and post in the thread if you have to

it's not just trades, almost every sale i make is someone wanting a card or cards from my ebay store. i also get random people offering me cards/lots several times a week via pm.

The complexity of adding a deal URL is evidently why I haven't received feedback on my last three transactions. For someone who only makes a few deals a year on here, this is problematic for my feedback score.

You can always send them a reminder message to leave you feedback. The last 2people you have left feedback for have left feedback for people using the new URL system.

No, no, no. It's evidently the complexity.

yeah so just use the url from ur pms

This is how I feel about feedback in general - it should be REQUIRED to deal on this site. The last person I did a deal with is being an #@#@#@#@#@#@#@ and not leaving me feedback - eff them, they don't need my business in the future.

if you leave itrader for them first, then all they have to do is click on the little yellow notice in their itrader to leave it for you, then only you need to do the url. it only needs to be added once based on my last few deals.

(phone glitches aside)
Adding the url takes a whopping 2 seconds.
Anyone saying its too complex to copy and paste is just using that as an excuse.

The people who routinely dont leave feedback wont magically change for the better until they are forced to use a trade manager that wont give them their trader point until they leave one for the other party.

It's not an excuse if you don't know how to do it.I only learned how to post a pic here a year ago.Not everyone here was using a computer at age 6.

For the record, the system doesn't actually require it be a URL, just that the field is filled in.

Most of the time I just type in some nonsensical message. I don't always feel like searching for a thread.

If you can figure out how to join this board, sign up to sell on ebay and comc,
surely you can figure out how to copy and paste text.

Does that nullify the PM link in the feedback?
Out of sheer curiosity, I tested this.
The answer is YES, after deleting the PM I used as deal URL
I now get "invalid thread specified" when clicking on it in the feedback area.

I've always assumed that mods on any board can see deleted PM's for awhile,
just like they can see post edits.

So as it relates to a mod looking at feedback inside of a few days simply trying to confirm its validity,
I dont think theres an issue.

Do see how it could be an issue if one is expecting very detailed specifics,
but those same specifics are rarely in public threads either.

yeah I contacted Houdini via PM just in case my question was missed. He said the mods are working on a solution for this situation.

thanks for testing it though!

(and having a little admin experience elsewhere, once PMs are deleted, they are gone- too much data to keep on a message board if it kept all deleted PMs.).

In theory, if a thread that gets deleted after other deals are made,
it would result in the same invalid thread message.

Couldn't we just start posting a message when we leave feedback what the trade/sale was for. There is a little section after where you leave a note for feedback to make a note where both traders can see and so can the moderators.

Asking for help around here is often like handing out an invitation to be abused.

Fixed your post.

Many people come in here and ask for help and are helped out.
Many come in like total a$$hats and are treated accordingly.

I guess I'm glad I have my Rocket Science Degree, haha. Does the "url link" really present this much of a challenge I would imagine this is right up there with the ability to ship in a timely manner
