United Frequent Flier Miles "For Sale"

Hi all,

I have just over 70,000 FF miles on United. Booking their cheapest class of tickets, that's enough for two round-trip flights in the continental US (and some places outside like Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, etc., though the selections are more limited).

We wanted to use them for our flight to the Caribbean but there were really bad choices for flights to where we are going. Instead, we are going to try and "sell" the miles and use the money for our flight instead. Technically you can't sell FF miles, but you can book a flight in someone else's name.

Essentially what I need is someone who is planning a flight in the next year somewhere in the U.S. I have enough miles for 2 people to go roundtrip in the US, or 1 person round-trip pretty much anywhere in the world.

You would pay me what the flight costs (minus like $50 for the hassle) and I would book the flight with the miles in your name and send you the tickets. Obviously not all flights are available with FF miles, so this would require some cooperation. Also, the more expensive the flight is the more value I'm going to get out of my miles, so I'm unlikely to sell them for a $300 flight from Chicago to Cleveland. I would much prefer something like 2 people going roundtrip from NYC to LAX where the flight would typically be $600 a person. Or one person flying to Europe or Australia where the cost would be similar. You'll save ~$50 (negotiable, depending on the value I'm getting) on your flight and I'll get rid of my miles.
