Need help pricing an Atari 2600a NIB...

My buddy and I are selling an Atari 2600a... sealed in box... but I have a couple questions...

1) what is the true SV of these? I saw a 2600 sell for 1200.. but this is 2600a?

2) I provided pics below..does anyone know if the white string around the box was from atari themselves.. or did the distributor put that on later?

I will be grateful for any help.. thanks in advance.

PS... people are asking 200-400 for this system w/ box opened.. but this is the only one I could find sealed.. hence my question

-On the atari forums, as of a couple years ago, you could get one 'sealed' for $300 from a couple of users. Those might of been anomalies, but unless it is a 6'er i think yer asking price might be a bit hi.

how could people be getting 400 for one opened? I don't understand the vintage video game market at all lol

-ON ebay, $200 is more the normal hi-point for prices on used with boxes. i don't think asking $400-$500 would be a stretch, higher if you like, but unless you can check worthpoint (from what i have seen) i think yer hi on the price...and anything else you like, i suppose.

it's a consignment item so I was more or less looking for a baseline value for it... I have found ZERO info other than that one atari2600.com site... I feel very naked on this one lol.. that's why we put it up so high.

Have any infor on the white twine/string for me?

-No clue on the string, never seen one with it on there.

I can't imagine that is factory, though, makes no sense from a packing, loading, or shipping standpoint.
