Sports Card Shows

We are looking for some helpful ideas to gain more people through the door and also more dealers at our Card Shows. Right now we get about 75+ people through the door and our table prices are $20 per 8 foot table. We run an ad in The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Beckett free calendar, also the paid Beckett large ads, and Craigslist.

If you are in the area (or outside) what would attract you to our shows? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

We are thinking of doing some things like:

1. Door Prizes
2. Silent Auctions
3. Raffle prizes
4. Group breaks

We also do a Tuesday night show every other week that we can incorporate any ideas. Thanks for your help.

i like the idea of a group break during a show. By the way, I live in Youngstown. Are there any shows coming up close to my area?

I don't think there's very many close to Youngstown. We do a Tuesday night show next Tuesday Nov 13th in Twinsburg. We also have a our monthly larger show Nov 25th in Eastlake.

Do the shows on the weekend instead of during the week

here is an idea. have someone come in and sign autographs that has alot of hype from one of your local colleges

Lower your table prices to get dealers hooked.
Take the loss to make it better down the road.
Invite other types of dealers. Comic book, toys,etc. A big show here is every 3 months, advertises comics,Die-cast cars,toys,comics and ball cards. Small town, but a good 500-700 people roll in over the 1 day show and the tables are 10/ea and there is a waiting list.
They do raffles during the show for the nearest high school girls softball team and the school endorses it.
