Any idea how much the Shogun Rua auto card would go for? Is it worth it to bust a case?

absolute bull$&*# move by Leaf. are you kidding me? this is a product that has been out for weeks. this is just a shrewd move to get people to buy more of this prodcut and i see right through their marketing. this is just another reason why Leaf (Razor) cannot be taken as a serious company.

As soon as I read this, you were the first person that came to my mind. You bought quite a bit of this correct?

I wonder if Leaf is doing this to help the dealers get rid of more product, or to compete with Topps because they have so many wrapper redemptions going on?

It's to get rid of excess inventory. You also need 96 wrappers (I think) to get the Rua Auto. So I don't know if the cost of opening 96 packs is worth the auto.

Leaf said they would be doing a wrapper promotion with the MMA set before it got released Brian Gray posted it on Twitter and on a MMA card only site he just said keep your wrappers we are working on a promotion. So I kept my wrappers and they are now on the way to Leaf. I know of a minimum of 25people that kept the wrappers so if you are going to buy do it quick because the Rua cards will be gone fast. I think the first few to hit Ebay will go for 200+ it is his first auto card and he one of the most popular fighters in MMA.

Any idea who the "top HW' that is going to be part of their next redemption is?
I'm hoping for the Reem myself, I think all the other good HWs were already in the set besides Werdum.

Guess you should never throw your wrappers away? How about you should NEVER purchase anything Brian Gray has created? Razor is, and has always been, HORRIBLE.

I threw away 24 wrappers the day before I got the email...; Can't say I'm that bummed because there's a limited number of fighters I collect and all of them except one have cards (Topps or UFC). Anyhow, here's what Leaf said in the notice:

We estimate these will bring hundreds of dollars per card in the marketplace.

Hope this helps your sales.

these cards should be in the product or randomized with the wrapper redemption, not 96 packs for the top names in the set.

You have to buy 12 boxes to get this auto.

This is the new wave of BS for these guys, wrapper redemption for cards that should already be in the boxes.

I ripped 4 cases of this stuff first week. I have 1 case left. I think its not even worth opening my last case to get a shogun or overroid auto redemption. RAZOR MMA sucks ballz. I rather keep opening UFC 4.

Is 16 packs the minimum that they will offer for an auto? Then if they are limited will it be a scramble to get one.

Who will be the 16 pack auto or will it just be a base card. lol

Default Redemption

First, I wanted to take a second to explain the reasoning on this.
We have many dealers who still have product in stock. This promotion is designed to give collectors a reason to revisit this product despite the fact that it has been out for a while.

Second, we twittered and put it out these 2 months ago that we would be doing a wrapper redemption. However, much like a wrapper redemption at the National, it is deisgned to create sales at a particular point of time.

Third, we are completely sold out of Leaf MMA and have been since day one. Speding massive money to get these cards signed for collectors doesnot put a single penny in our pocket (on the other hand, it cost us Tens of Thousands of dollars).

Fourth, for those that don't want to buy Leaf MMA for this redemption, Leaf MMA Metal comes out in June and will feature ON CARD CHROME STYLE autographs of these and more new fighters.

Lastly, there are members on this board who are not fans of Leaf (and that is completely fine). However, I would be VERY skeptical of members who name call, attack and call me personally "shady". I have been in this business for over 25 years and have an above reproach reputation with the majority of dealers and distrbutors in this business. If you want to know more, email blowout cards. They know very well our level of integrity.

If I can ever answer any questions for you, email brian@leaftradingcards.com

Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
