Topps 1/1 Scam? UFC Knockout - How is this possible??

Can someone please explain to me how there could possibly be 2 redemptions on Ebay for the same card that is supposed to be a 1/1?? Is Topps scamming us here saying cards are 1/1 when they are not??

topps doesn't have true 1 of 1's, just like in triple threads baseball, they have different variations....

Topps has printing plates fall under its stupid "White Whale" gimmick. So, even though it is the same card number like in other sports such there will be 4 printing plates, a wood 1/1, and just a regular 1/1.

I don't know.. Only a few actual white whales from Knockout popped up on the bay so far & they all look the same. Doesn't appear to be any variations like I have seen with printing plates on other products.

Look at this listing that shows the back of 1 of the cards. It says White Whale and One of One. No reference to printing plate or other colors. I have an A & G Magglio Ordonez printing plate & it says yellow printing plate on the card. Not these...

White Whales are the Printing Plates and do not have the colors noted on the card like other plates from other products....... so there will be four White Whales for the same card.........

It's probably the same card, one is auction and one if high BIN. If he gets the high BIN he will cancel the auction.

Both cards are in Ontario Canada

This would be my guess. Each is a printing plate. Strictly a guess though.

Topps calls the Triple Threads printing plates "White Whales". Been that way for awhile now. In every sport.

Yes white whales are just the term Topps coined for their printing plates. These are the actual printing plates used to print the depicted card and as such have a magenta, cyan, black, and yellow version - these are the ink colors needed to to print the cards in color. You can never have just one plate.

While there are probably 4 redemptions like this for the colored plates, I'd be inclined to agree with this:

People at shows around here bring their high BIN ebay auctions to sell at shows all the time knowing their starting price is high enough its unlikely to sell for full price, and if they sell it at a show they can just take down the auction. Given both of these redemptions are on ebay at the same time in such close proximity to one another, I'd guess the BIN guy is the original owner while the auction guy is the new owner. Either the BIN guy has forgotten to take down his listing or the two sellers know each other and the Auction seller asked that the BIN listing be left up and informed of what the highest offers its getting are.
