Surprised to see nobody commenting on this. This event has been the most publicized UFC event since UFC @ Rogers Centre.

Any predictions? GSP or Condit?

GSP!:flex::flex::flex::flex:
Condit!!!!!!!
I'm very conflicted with who to cheer for. As a Canadian I want to see the Canadian win, but as a Canadian I want to see the Quebecer lose :).

Who to cheer for?!

GSP I got money on it.

I was joking on the earlier post, I'll be rooting for GSP.

Great opening round, hope he keeps it up!

GoJays 11-18-2012 12:21 AM

I feel for anyone watching in hd. That cut looked nasty on my pixelated computer, I can't imagine what it's like.

GoJays 11-18-2012 12:39 AM

Best fight I've seen in a long, long time. Wow. What a fight.

Sets up GSP vs. Silva in Dallas Stadium next summer...

GSP doesn't stand a chance anywhere outside of Canada. It'd be open season for Silva.

Unless for some strange reason GSP/Silva takes place at the Big O, Georges St. Pierre has no chance at all against Anderson Silva.

I refuse to accept any magical beans after those things I ate in Mexico. They did things to me man, crazy things    :flex:

No denying GSP has an advantage in Montreal, or in Canada for that matter.

Rematch in the making!!

MC80_LCM 11-18-2012 09:50 AM

Am I the only one that really doesn't have any interest in seeing Silva vs. GSP? I think WW has been built back up in the past year or two so that there are 4 or 5 legit matchups for GSP. Guys like Rory McDonald and Hendricks are viable contenders, Condit probably earned a rematch and there is always Diaz.

I have much more interest in a Silva vs. Jones fight.

except for that thing sitting in front of him of course

Bryanjs14 11-18-2012 11:07 AM

No rematch. Hendricks is next in line. Dana said it last night in the post fight press conference. GSP won't fight Rory, at least for the time being they have both stated this

why the hell would there be a rematch in a fight scored 50-45???

just because it was entertaining doesnt mean we need to see it twice.

I would LOVE to see GSP vs. Rory, but ill settle for a GSP Hendricks tune up for his fight with A.Silva next new years

fm8418 11-19-2012 03:42 PM

Rory would get worked at this stage

I dont see how anyone wouldn't want to see GSP/SILVA. Not saying it would be a good/fair fight but it would be great to see. The smaller guy never wants it unless you're BJ Penn

sserrano49 11-19-2012 06:32 PM

Id be very surprised if Hendricks doesn't get a shot. The guy is aggressive, has elite wrestling, and packs a big left punch. Everyone wants to see silva gsp but it doesnt make sense. GSP would have to go up at least 15 pounds to fight a guy who occasionally fights at 205. Silva Jones makes more sense. Give GSP a break though the guy just came off a career threatening injury and had a great performance.

Bryanjs14 11-19-2012 07:43 PM

GSP walks around at 190-195. If they did a catch weight fight at 180lb (which is what I think will happen) he will still be cutting, and adding more more muscle. Anderson is absolutely a much larger fighter, walking around at 225 (although I have seen him looking like even more than that) so he would be cutting 40-50lbs for the fight, even if he puts some of that weight back on after weigh ins, that is still a GRUELING cut. I think that's a bit of an equalizer for the fight. Jones Silva makes more sense, but I would still want to see GSP fight him first.

fm8418 11-19-2012 09:21 PM

The fight would most likely be 177. Firas wants it at 170...if it's 170 I would say the title has to be up for grabs

I dont think AS is walking around that high. He only weighed in at 202 for the Bonnar fight

Bryanjs14 11-20-2012 08:56 AM

He absolutely is walking around at that. I met him in Houston at the fan convention last year and asked him that question and he said 220.... But he looked even heavier at the time. I have the picture to prove it if you want to see what a non fighting Anderson looks like lol, he looks like a different person.

I honestly think 180 will be the weight the fight will happen at.

hudsonfan15 11-22-2012 08:37 AM

I really enjoyed 154, especially the last 2 fights. I thought we were in trouble with the way the Cote/Sakara fight ended but it turned out ok overall. I love Kampmann but I had a feeling about Hendricks to the point of having the cheapest BIN auto of his on the bay up on my ebay mobile app before the fight started and was in the process of paying for it before Martin was standing up. I hear from people who have trained with JH that his success with landing big strikes has developed this underestimation for his ground skills which are supposed to be sick.

Condit really hung in there with GSP after 2 rounds which didn't go his way but GSP was just too much. Granted they both look like they were in a fight afterwards unlike some of the other "elite" fighters after these highly-promoted matches but for a guy who said to everyone how he wasn't considering himself the champion until he beat GSP Condit did not seem to fight that way IMO. I know what his style typically is but when you know walking in that your opponent is better than you (provided he was 100%) you have to be more assertive and when you've lost 3 of 4 rounds you need to go for broke in round 5. I'm no insider but I get the impression that some of these guys think it is somehow better to lose an obvious (50-45 anyone?) decision than to get KO'd trying to end the fight when you're clearly losing. As Iron Maiden famously sang, "Die With Your Boots On!"

Finally, is anyone less excited for this Nelson/Mitrione fight than me? Because these may very well be my two least favorite fighters this side of Josh Koscheck. I enjoyed elements of this TUF season but this is as disappointing a climax as I could imagine, I seriously may not even watch. I would rather have had no fight than this, at least then I wouldn't feel guilty about not watching it.

Happy Thanksgiving!

fm8418 11-22-2012 09:32 AM

Huh? Nelson is awesome to watch fight, even if he is a big idiot.

Consensus is this is the worst season of TUF.
