Matt Hamill vs. Jon Jones
He’s only had nine professional fights (three in the UFC), but when you ask people about “Jonny Bones” Jones, the phrase “future of the sport” usually shows up in the conversation. Consider this – he’s only 22 years old, is extremely athletic, is a former JUCO national champion in wrestling, and has an array of unorthodox strikes and throws that look like they’ve come straight out of a video game. Add in a win over veteran contender Stephan Bonnar and a recent change in training camps to the renowned Greg Jackson gym in Albuquerque, and the future may be now.

That said, Saturday brings Jones his toughest test to date in Matt Hamill, a former national championship wrestler himself. Hamill shone in The Ultimate Fighter season three cast, then as the first deaf fighter to compete in the Octagon. Oh, and he can fight too, as evidenced by six UFC wins, including a highlight reel head kick knockout of Mark Munoz in March.

This is an evenly matched battle of two talented 205-pound MMA fighters, but given their history – and Jones’ desire to prove a point – don’t be surprised if a wrestling match breaks out.

Jon Jones is a beast his Judo skills are of the chart. His fight is going to be a hard one for me to pick cause I like both fighters.

Since your his sponsor is he going to have your logo on his fight shorts that would be cool.

Nooo, he lost by disqualification. At least he didn't lose badly, so he technically has never been beaten yet.

jones absolutely wrecked matt hammill. yeah, he got dq'd, but it won't set him back any b/c everyone saw how dominant he was.

He was robbed, the 12-6 elbows are not what hurt hammill. jones dominated this dude and got screwed over, ridiculous, my wife was crying cuz she felt bad for the deaf guy she said

Yeah I didn't know he was deaf until shortly before the fight. Due to his deafness his speech is sort of dysfunctional which is kind of sad to hear. Also, Hammill is at a slight disadvantage because he can't hear his corner unlike everyone else.

Old thread, but do you guys still sponsor him and get the website spread through him? Been seeing the commercials for him headlining a PPV this weekend, seems like he's turned out well from 3.5 years ago when the sponsorship started.

As far as I know Blowout no longer sponsors him. Would be extremely impressive if they did.
