Default Rory MacDonald

Do you think it's worth investing in a few of his cards. From what I have seen this guy is the next big thing. I know enough to get myself in trouble on MMA so I will defer to the experts.

If I have $200 to spend on him what should I buy?

2012 KO is considered his first auto (even though metal came out first) so that has the most upside (though they are pretty high already).

any numbered versions of his base rookie from topps 2010 are good investments I think.

Yes I am investing in him, I have a few base autos and some 2012 Topps KO redemption pending. His best card is the KO Autograph card, I have only seen /8 & /15 cards go on eBay, haven't seen any 1/1 yet. I did notice however this beautiful card listed recently.

2012 Topps UFC Triple Threads Rory MacDonald Georges St Pierre Kenny Florian 1 1 | eBay

Wish I was the luck punk who owns this card.

I don't know if I would invest much into any MMA fighter, especially one not established.

Rory is not someone you should invest in, most of the people who own his cards are doing the same thing, I don't know anyone who is truly a fan of his(even though all of the "collectors" will claim they are fans, but all they care about is the value of his cards), and not into him because the constant ass kissing from Goldie and Rogan. Once he loses the cards will DROP, look at Frankie Edgar, Ryan Bader, Edson Barboza( I have seen his rc #/8 go from over $200, down to under $50 with just one loss)

If looking to "invest" in MMA cards
Look for rd 1 autos blue or red of SIlva and GSP and rd 2 autos blue and red of Jones. Theseare like blue chip stocks. everything else is garbage, and will continue declining in value

Says a guy who obviously didn't buy into Jon Jones and Ronda Rousey cards before they were "established"

I made a KILLING on both. I think Rory had great potential, but unlike Jones and Rousey, I do think there are people in his weight class that are better than him.

I guess invest was a bad word to use. I should have said flip. I ended up buying 7 of the cards listed in the link for $15 a pop. The link below is not my auction or the auction I purchased just the card I bought. I figured I can get around $25 per card if I list them now and just wait on them in a 30 day auction. Not trying to get rich just make a couple bucks.

Yeah Rory, won't beat Condit, Pierre or Hendricks. Unless he drops to 155 he won't be champ. if he didn't train with GSP, there would be no hype around him

GSP has faith in him, and not that many of his fights have been close, so he's as good as anyone to invest in.

He did lose to Condit but it was a fight of the night and could beat him if they fought again. It's not like Condit man handled him or anything. They both took huge shots from one another. Condit was much more experienced at the time however (more than twice as many fights). I would bet he beats Condit if they were to have a rematch.

Both Hendricks and Condit have lost to guys they would probably beat now.

There is GSP then everyone else.

they didnt have cards of them before they were established. Ronda was an established name basically right away.

Jones also was basically established by the time his card came out.

The thing about MMA cards is you don't have a card until you're in the UFC basically and if you're in the UFC you're probably established. Investing and flipping can be two different things like he just posted. Investing in MMA can be tough because it only takes a loss or 2 for value to really drop.

Any changes on your thoughts of Rory? He looks to be right on par after that unexciting fight against Ellenberger. While it was not a very good fight Rory still had his way with him with ease.

If Hendricks dethrones GSP in November, Rory would certainly be in line for a title shot.

I think winner of rory McDonald and Robbie lawler at 167 will get the winner of gsp and Hendricks..both fights on same card so unless a serious medical suspension comes down its on a collision course for that being whats gonna happen

GSP will get immediate shot barring massive injury.
