Default A legend retires today

Megumi Fujii is fighting her last mma fight today here in Japan. Event starts in about 4 hours. One of my best friends and a pioneer of the sport.

Go Megumi!

I definitely agree. I had the pleasure of meeting her and watching her fight live, once. I'm sure neither of them are happy with the outcome, especially in a retirement fight between two friends. Hope she is okay.

She also has cards that she had custom made. There were two versions that were given out at the show this weekend. I was able to get both I'll post scans later when I get home!

Licensed by who? If you mean the UFC, she never fought there.

Leaf MMA cards are licenced directly from the athletes.

No Japanese cards of Megumi Fujii?

None that I'm aware of. I'll ask her today.

No, but the athletes have to sign something that says they guarantee they are real. With hers though, don't worry... I personally saw her signing a bunch of them! It was cool to see the super in person that once.

Here are the cards that were given out at the show last weekend. Two versions.

And this is another card Megumi had made like 6 years ago.

And of course the sketch I had Gary Kezele make which I had her sign.
