I think last year was one of the most frustrating - worst experiences ever.
They slowly release the stuff - until you're to the point you'll buy just about any junk. The site would crash, slow as hell, barely worked. The really great deals are gone in seconds. Then to top it off even if it looks like you have it - you still have to check out faster than others.

Then as the kicker. After everything you find out all the deals (but the few great deals you had no shot at to begin with) are being offered again at 6 pm. You realize you wasted the entire day.....could have bought all the same junk at the same price, but got it with combined shipping and less of a headache.

I'm angry just thinking about last year lol.

I usually hate being negative. Is it just me or does it seem like on these Black Friday deals all the card sites are just unloading their junk? I mean we'd never see 2010 Prestige FB or 2010 Bowman Baseball at a blowout discount price. That is what keeps me away each year. I had a chance at an Indiana Jones case for $12.00 last year and I passed on it. I'd rather wait a week afterwords and get a youtube video special discount on the boxes of cards I really care about. Doesn't make any sense to me, but I guess if you just open wax for the fun of it and don't care about sale value of the cards, than these specials are for you!

First, in my opinion,
If you're buying cards to profit (getting highest sale value, in comparison to just value in general - personal preference)..GOOD LUCK. Collecting Cards is a hobby first, and yeah if you hit a GREAT card you can make some cash, but how often is that? Most of the time, you will buy a box...get your hits..and usually won't make back the cost of the box, unless you find someone to buy all the cards and what not. For example, I could go buy a rookies and stars box and get my four hits and make $40, IF THAT, off the cards and be stuck with a bunch of base - not covering the cost of the box. People don't buy jersey cards for much, and the odds of actually getting a good auto are stacked against you. Buying boxes in general is a gamble, and we all know about gambling and peoples mentality towards it.

Second, in my opinion,
These sales allow the true collector - one who collects cards for what the hobby is, to snag some good cards for a low price and possibly expand their collection with players/teams they like, or their favorite movie or something - SOME PEOPLE PROBABLY COLLECT INDIANA JONES lol

Finally, just because it isn't this years product, or the products you consider to be the best, doesn't mean it is just junk lol there are still good cards in there that could have some sell value for you. And tonssss of people buy product from other years that the current year. Yes, indiana jones cards are junk, but if you call national treasure deals from previous years junk then I don't know what else to say to you - could be some awesome cards in there.

I agree with you 10000%. You must be the true collector I've been hearing about, a legend, a dying breed!!! Like you I am a true collector too. I haven't bought a 2010 box yet but I did just get my 2009 Nat Chicle FB yesterday from UPS. It wasn't a $1500 dollar case to "try" & flip only to be out the money instead of profiting which will happen 99/100 times. Sure if I buy a box with 3 or 4 hits but only 1 is a PC item, I will try to unload the other hits/cards for money to put towards other boxes or PC items but this isn't my job, career or profession. I am just a collector of cards. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! Hope ya'all enjoy the games today & Friday!!
