I listened to you guys and signed up for the cashback. I bought a box of 2008 Donruss Extra Edition for $78.49 from Blowout Cards, minus my ebay 10% coupon (down to $70.64) and minus the 30% cashback it came to $46.09. NOT BAD! Thanks for the heads up!

Has anyone else needed to create additional accounts?...

as I understand it we only have 12 transactions maximum per account -correct?

I listened as well and ordered a 9 box case of 2008 topps triple threads for $1139.99 on ebay, minus the 30% cashback which was $200=939.99 or $104.44 per box

There is a 12 transaction "lifetime" limit per account on Ebay.

I see guys... thanks for the input! I am reading all of it and digesting as we speak...its really not a bad thing when we save $$$ but ultimately it does benefit MS in the end. Its not bad if we can get this cashback instantly but when you have got to wait 60+days.. thats Annoying!

I am just pissed that with me spending over $10k the last few months that I did not get a 10% or 15% off coupon from ebay. I am so sick and tired of their BS.

I know there is a cash limit per year, but does anyone know if they 12 transaction total resets at the beginning of the year?

Don't worry, I have never gotten a coupon from them. And for the question above nobody really know if it resets or not.

I have answered this question a couple of times, and will try to again. The terms and conditions state 12 transactions per "calendar" year.
If they hold true to this statement, they will reset come January 1st, 2009. However, nobody really knows if this discount will still apply to Ebay auctions tomorrow let alone next year.

All we have to go by is what the terms and conditions say. Since next year isn't here yet, it's impossible to verify of course. I wouldn't take anyone's word for it, that's for sure.

I hope this helps.

what's BS about it. people need to stop thinking they deserve stuff. Ive been on paypal/ebay for 8 years, that doesnt mean I should get anything special.

Why doesn't it mean you should get something special. It's not like Cubfan is out of work, watching tv all day long with his hand out hoping hard working Americans give him what he "deserves". He actually spends money on Ebay. Shouldn't he be rewarded more than those that spend little to nothing? Of course it does. You reward performance...not lack thereof, and that's why everyone thinks they deserve something when they don't. They think they should be reawarded when they have done nothing just because others are being rewarded.

They need to bring dodge ball back to school and get back to keeping score in all youth sports.

I need to stop thinking I deserve something after spending thousands more than most on Ebay and not getting rewarded for doing so?
Get a clue!!!
Just because you have been on Ebay for 8 years does not mean you have sold or bought as much as others from the same time frame. And if you have then you do deserve something for your trouble.
If they send someone who spends $50 in a year a coupon instead of me then they can take their listing and final value fees and stick them up there HOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!
JMO

At least Matt has my back.

Not many places reward people for anything. Take your business elsewhere. Ebay has been doing this for a long time now. If people would actually just do this then things might change.

The coupons are probably random and if they are there's no reason to get upset.

I don't like that people find a way to abuse stuff like creating multiple accounts to get more live discounts or requests more than one Blowout gift. This is the reason deals go away. People should just be happy with what they get or are offered.

I understand people who spend more think they should get better benefits but I just see things evenly,

No, you see things blindly! That statement you made is the exact opposite of how commerce works. Those that spend more SHOULD get more rewards. It is people like me that keep ebay fat with fees.

does it? when i try again on an account i've used all 12 i get a message saying i've exceeded my "lifetime" limit on transactions.

i'd be really surprised if they actually reset the 12 per calendar year. has to end at some point.

Mine said "lifetime" too. But the T & C says per calendar year. Who knows until it actually happens?

Default This will clarify things...

Copied directly from T & C:

eBay Terms
for Live Search Cashback Rewards

Your participation in the Microsoft Live Search cashback program ("Cashback Program"), is subject to the Microsoft Service Agreement at Windows Live Help (the "Program Terms"), and these eBay Terms. In the event of a conflict between the Program Terms and the eBay Terms, the eBay Terms shall apply.
Cashback Program
The Microsoft Live Search Cashback Program provides cashback for up to 12 qualifying purchases per account on eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices. The amount of cashback will be determined by eBay, specified at the time of checkout on the "purchase review page" and equal to a percentage of the sale price (excluding shipping and handling fees, insurance fees and other such fees) ("Cashback Rewards"). The maximum amount of Cashback Rewards per qualifying purchase is $200.00 USD. In addition, all Cashback Rewards (including Cashback Rewards earned in connection with purchases made on websites other than eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices) are subject to the annual $2,500.00 per person cap set forth in the Program Terms.

Once you have reached 12 transactions, that account can no longer use cash back on Ebay. However, you can collect cash back on other web sites, up to $2500 per calendar year. This $2500 will reset on January 1st.

Default Quick recap...

There is a "lifetime" limit of 12 Ebay transactions that you can use for the cashback program. These will NOT reset each calendar year. However, it clearly states 12 transactions per account, and you can have multiple accounts.

I hope this helps and clears up all of the questions. I actually learned something too. I'm sorry if I mislead anyone.
