Default Upper Deck Transforms Paintings of Hockey Hall-of-Famers Into a New Card Set

Upper Deck Transforms Paintings of Hockey Hall-of-Famers Into a New Card Set

Collectors can experience artist renderings of the greatest moments in hockey history with 2008-09 Upper Deck NHL Legends Masterpieces

North Las Vegas, NV (September 3, 2008) – Upper Deck is well known for helping sports fans relive the moments that gave them goose bumps through trading cards. Now the trading card giant is highlighting the top moments in hockey as painted by various artists and printed on a canvas-like paper. These miniature masterpieces will help collectors relive moments like the night Mario Lemieux came back from cancer, or when Bobby Orr scored “The Goal” or when hockey’s heroes were showing off the Stanley Cup.

The 2008-09 Upper Deck NHL Legends Masterpieces product is also a great value for collectors with each box yielding four autograph or game-used cards on average. Additionally, each box will include a 5”x 7” blow-up card along with one autographed blow-up card per case on average. There are also exciting chase elements with “1-of-1” sketch cards from each of the unique artists who contributed to the set and matted parallel cards of the base set.

“We think hockey fans will be excited about adding this Hall-of-Fame-caliber product to their collections,” said Josh Zusman, Upper Deck Hockey brand manager. “To capture these amazing moments in a new way is a real thrill. From Gordie Howe to Wayne Gretzky, we pulled out all the stops to provide hockey fans with the best images from hockey’s long history.”

Upper Deck’s 2008-09 Upper Deck NHL Legends Masterpieces carries a suggested retail price of $6.99 per four-card hobby pack and is available in stores now.

Ehhhhh -- I got ZERO sketch cards in my case. Typical card manufacturer using their marketing to mislead the public.
