gosh does this make me feel old.. I remember when this was a huge card.. you couldn't find 89 fleer anywhere.. There are a lot of these kids who weren't even alive during this craze was going on.. Dang I feel old..

I've got the blackout. Isn't the white out version still worth the most (as this was the 1st attempt to cover up the message)..and the blacked out version the more commonly found version?

I still have several. I have a friend that had a shop and he was running around buying all the cello cases he could get. He knew the order the cards were in and would cherry pick all the packs that had the Ripken cards in them. I remember he was doing shows and selling them for $100 each. That was back when Donruss and Fleer were difficult to find and held their value. Boy those days are long gone.

I have the actual card, Scribble, and black box, I think I had the white out too but I haven't look at them in so long they are at my parents house..

I bought a box some years ago off Ebay that the seller said the box came from a case that contained the F face card. Yeah I know, ripoff ready to happen, but he was telling the truth and there was 1 in the box.

I'm pretty sure that there is still a controversy on whether the whiteout version is real or not. They are out there, but nobody knows if it was Fleer that did it and not some scammers.
