I find this hard to believe.

Selling a new product such as Mayo or Murad will be very tough in today's new market.

I thought they already announced they cut back on Murad?

And, fwiw, I don't think selling a $60 box of something 'new' is tougher than something old at that price point. It may be easier, in fact.

self-marketing hype..so we "think" there's a shortage and rush out to buy some...somehow creating value for these cards....
don't fall for it....remember how Upper Dick "cut production" on all their basketball products last year....yeha look how valuable they are...yawn....

EXACTLY Aron! The % of good autos available in a certain product doesn't change when they cut production, it just means they use less of the stickers. Maybe they planned on using 100 sticker autos of player X in a certain product...based on pre orders, now they may only use 50. It's a sham.

I think the Murad looks horrible, but I'm thinking my football sandwich might need some Mayo.

I don't think anyone [but you, perhaps] thought that the percentages magically got better because they cut production.

One auto per box is still....one auto per box, etc.

599 cases of murad. even by the standards of crappy NBA demand that's not very much.

This I find as a total BS publicity stunt!

The economy is tanking and suddenly more dealers and collectors are rushing to pre-order for more product from Topps??

I don't think so...they had to cut the production numbers...nice honest business people wouldn't try to mislead us would they

I have to disagree, maybe Topps is actually reducing the production of cases and that is a good thing in this bad market.

how is it a good thing when even though they are producing less product, the product they are producing is CRAP?

My point was they are reducing production but they're making it sound like "hey we're sold out!! Everyone want this stuff!!!"

Instead of saying, "we're cutting back due to market trends and the obvious financial situation."

If there is actually less manufactured then it's good for us the collector/ seller...if not then the market is going to be flooded with this stuff for a few weeks and then dissipate quickly...right??

Topps is manufacturing every product to order, which in essence means they SELL OUT of every product. This is just deceptive business practices, it's not hard to sell out of a product or item when it's made to order, and only the amount ordered is produced. In reality this means nothing, it's just another way they're trying to put lipstick on a pig.

Yes, everyone hates Topps for some reason [I prefer UD as well] but 599 cases is like nothing. If it turns out to be a popular product those who bought will greatly benefit.

No one wanted UD Exquisite when it came out either. You just never know what people will like/pay for. If we did, we'd all be retired. No one knows anything.
