Decades Redemption at the National

-Do you believe in miracles? At In The Game, we certainly do.

-In The Game will be creating a special version of Decades the 80s for the National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago August 3rd. Dealers who will have this special version of Decades - 1980's at the National will be announced before the show.

-In the Special National Version of Decades one of the three memorabilia inserts will be replaced by a Chicago Blackhawks Decades Quad Card. There are eight different Chicago Blackhawks Decades Quad cards. This Special National Version of Decades is the only place to find these cards.

-In addition, Dominik Hasek Autograph Cards will be found randomly, in the Special National Version of Decades. Mr. Hasek's autograph cards were received too late to pack out with the other autographs and now collectors have a chance to add this hard-signed autograph card to their collections. Remember, you can only find Dominik Hasek's Decades autograph card in the Special National Version of Decades.

-We believe in miracles! So collectors breaking the Special National Version of Decades will receive a ticket for a free Mark Wells autograph. Mark will be in the In The Game booth on Saturday June 6th from 2:00-4:00pm.

-In addition to all of the above, the Special National Version of Decades also qualify for the In The Game Wrapper Redemption. So in addition to the Mark Wells autograph, you can receive a special In The Game National Decades Redemption Card.


In the Game VIP Program Announced

In The Game is pleased to announce their participation at the 32nd National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago, August 3-7th.

National VIPs can come by the In The Game booth and redeem special cards found in their VIP bags for a 10-card In The Game VIP set.

Yo, VIP. . . Let’s Kick It! Panini America Begins Unveiling Plans for The National

With the National Sports Collectors Convention less than a month away, officials at Panini America today released information announcing their plans for VIPs attending the National.
The base set, available to those purchasing one of the VIP packages, will feature Panini spokesmen Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, John Wall and Blake Griffin. The first four cards will be inserted into VIP bags, along with a special coupon directing VIPs to the Panini corporate booth to obtain an additional two cards. The coupon must be brought to the Panini booth and exchanged for the two mystery cards, available for collectors throughout the week.

SuperVIPs are in for an extra treat, a 6-card set featuring some of the top 2011 NFL RCs from this year’s rookie class. Cam Newton, the first pick in the NFL Draft will be joined by fellow rookies Mark Ingram, A.J. Green, Blaine Gabbert and Jake Locker. The sixth card in the set will be the FIRST trading card produced of former Ohio State quarterback, Terrelle Pryor. SuperVIPs will find a coupon in their VIP package, when brought to the Panini booth, can be exchanged for the set.


A Comprehensive Look at Panini America’s 2011 National Wrapper-Redemption Set

The base set for this year’s show in Chicago will incorporate 19 superstars from the worlds of basketball, football, hockey and entertainment (King of Pop, anyone?) on a vertically modified 2011 Donruss Elite Football design that should be warmly embraced by show-goers. The base set will be accompanied by three different parallels (numbered to 25, 10 and 5), including some autographs.
In addition, there are three striking insert sets punctuating this year’s wrapper-redemption spectacle – a ten-card set devoted to the top NFL and NHL rookies of the 2010-11 season, an eight-card School Colors insert that pays tribute to local heroes from the Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks, and a two-card Headliners insert honoring the Super Bowl and Stanley Cup exploits of the Green Bay Packers and Boston Bruins, respectively.

Panini America Creates Something Special for Hockey Collectors at the National

Okay hockey collectors, ask and you shall receive. Over the past two weeks, the Knight’s Lance has given collectors an exclusive look at card images for the upcoming National as they become available.

One question we have seen asked on a few occasions…

Where’s the hockey?

Well, the wait is over. Hockey collectors feast your eye’s on these beauties. Autographed patch cards from some of the top NHL prospects from the 2010-11 season can be found ONLY in the National silver packs. Names like Taylor Hall, Tyler Seguin, Eberle and Paajarvi should excite ANY collector.


Autographs Set to Spike Panini America’s Wrapper-Redemption Packs at the National

It’s no secret that we at Panini America bring out the big guns every year for the National Sports Collectors Convention. As you’ve seen so far, we aim to please once again when the 32nd annual NSCC kicks off next week in Rosemont, Ill.

In recent weeks we’ve slowly and seductively provided the savory details surrounding our plans for this year’s show, including information and images on our National VIP Packs, our base wrapper-redemption program, our instant-redemption cards for autographed memorabilia and a little something special for the hockey enthusiasts.

Today, we offer a peek behind the curtain at just some of the low-numbered autograph cards that will be randomly inserted into our show-stealing wrapper-redemption packs. Frankly, some of the scans below don’t do these shiny sensations justice (in fairness, I had just three minutes to scan them before they were rushed to packout), but all of them provide a small appetizer to tide you over for the next week or so.

Press Pass 2011 National Sports Collectors Convention Promo Cards

PSA Plans More NSCC Show Promotions, Giveaways


Earlier this week, the company indicated plans to give away a Babe Ruth poster and copies of its monthly magazine, The Sports Card Market Report. The 184-page special edition of SMR is devoted to Chicago area sports legends and their collectibles, including Michael Jordan, Joe Jackson, Ernie Banks, Ryne Sandberg, Ron Santo, Frank Thomas, Bobby Hull and Walter Payton. A 16-page insert in each magazine provides highlights of this year's PSA Set Registry winners.

TOPPS ANNOUNCES 32nd NATIONAL VIP SET "NATIONAL TRIBUTES" SET COMMEMORATES 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF 1961 TOPPS HI NUMBER ALL-STARS

-The much-awaited 2011 Topps National VIP Set has been announced. Always a collectors favorite, this years set continues the tradition of producing a 50th Anniversary version of an earlier Topps issue.

-The 2011 set will be produced in the style of the coveted high number 1961 All Stars and will be sequentially numbered as a continuation of the original set.

-Labeled as "National Tributes", the set will include 5 different cards.

-Leading off will be a special combination card of the "M & M Boys", Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris who in 1961 staged an historic race to see who would be the first to surpass Babe Ruth's magical record of 60 homers in a single season. We all know that Roger outlasted Mickey to set the new record which stood for 37 years.

-In addition to the Mantle/Maris Combo, an individual card of the great Yankee Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle will be produced. Joining the Mick in the set will be former Dodger Great Jackie Robinson. Robinson, who retired in 1956 rather than accepting a trade to the rival New York Giants, would be elected to the Hall of Fame the next year in his first year of eligibility.

-Also in the 1961 "National Tributes" set will be Lou Gehrig. Gehrig had passed away 20 year earlier in 1941. Gehrigs storied career was the topic of a full-length motion picture and his record of 2130 consecutive games played was thought to be unbeatable until Cal Ripken surpassed it in 1995. Gehrig still holds the career record for Grand Slams with 23 (Alex Rodriguez has 22).

-The final card of the set is a very unusual card. An avid Red Sox fan, President John F Kennedy will complete the 2011 Topps National Tributes set. Kennedy attended games whenever he could and threw out the first pitch in Washington's Griffith Stadium on April 10, 1961.

-VIPs will each receive one 4-card pack of the 1961 Topps Tributes, while SuperVIPs will receive two packs.


Topps creates exclusive 2011 heritage rookie cards for national

Topps announces it will issue 5 rookie cards (via wrapper redemption) at this year’s National Collector’s Convention that were not included in 2011 Topps Heritage Baseball. Each card will be sequentially numbered to just 299 copies and one subject will be given out per day.
To obtain any one of these cards, collectors must open 5 packs of 2011 Topps/Bowman branded trading cards at the Topps booth. Each customer will be limited to one card per day.

Topps Hosting Meet & Greet / Q&A at National Convention

Topps announces it will be holding a Meet and Greet / Q&A session with 100 collectors next Thursday (4 -5:30 PM) at the National Collector’s Convention in Chicago. Collectors interested in attending should stop by the Topps booth to reserve a seat. Spots will be handed out on a first come-first serve basis.

In addition to discussing company and hobby happenings, Topps will give away random prizes and will be serving light snacks and refreshments.

Upper Deck Announces Plans for 32nd Annual National Sports Collectors Convention


On Wednesday, August 3, during the VIP “Sneak Peek” Day, a special six-card, VIP-emblazoned
cello-wrapped set from Upper Deck will be available to all show attendees who show their VIP
passes to The National. The player lineup for this coveted takeaway includes Michael Jordan,
Wayne Gretzky, Sidney Crosby, LeBron James, Bobby Orr and Landon Donovan.

During each public day of the show – Thursday through Sunday – Upper Deck will be conducting
its popular foil pack wrapper redemption program starting at 12 noon. Fans who purchase five
packs of specified Upper Deck card packs from Certified Diamond Dealers at the show will
receive a voucher they can bring to the Upper Deck booth to receive one of four different 2011
National event-exclusive, five-card packs. Each day there will be a different five-card collection
redeemed and they will be available while supplies last. A full list of the acceptable products
will be displayed at the Upper Deck booth with information on which retailers at the show will be
selling them.

On Thursday, the five-card pack will include Michael Jordan, Derrick Rose and Tiger Woods,
while Friday’s lineup includes Jonathan Toews and Greg Maddux. Saturday’s packs will feature
Mike Singletary, LeBron James and Wayne Gretzky, while Sunday’s roster will include such stars
as Bubba Watson, Landon Donovan and Jake Locker. A complete list of all the players available
each day will be posted at the Upper Deck booth. Card packs must be opened at the booth in
front of an Upper Deck representative for redeeming purposes after the customer presents their
redemption voucher. To make things even more exciting, Upper Deck has randomly inserted
autograph cards of several players into some of the packs.

Hoping to take ina Cubs game on friday, I think they play at noon. I just have to ask, if we're not interested in any IP autos, is there any disadvantage from buying general admission at the convention center, or should we preorder admission tickets?

I plan on being at the National for Wed-Fri. I want to get a VIP package for some of the free stuff but I won't be using the tickets on Sat and Sun. If someone is going just on Sat and Sun, maybe we can split the SUPERVIP package (which means double the VIP cards) and they can use the entry badge on Sat/Sun while I use it Wed-Thurs.

With the National Sports Collectors Convention less than a month away, officials at Panini America today released information announcing their plans for VIPs attending the National.
The base set, available to those purchasing one of the VIP packages, will feature Panini spokesmen Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, John Wall and Blake Griffin. The first four cards will be inserted into VIP bags, along with a special coupon directing VIPs to the Panini corporate booth to obtain an additional two cards. The coupon must be brought to the Panini booth and exchanged for the two mystery cards, available for collectors throughout the week.

SuperVIPs are in for an extra treat, a 6-card set featuring some of the top 2011 NFL RCs from this year’s rookie class. Cam Newton, the first pick in the NFL Draft will be joined by fellow rookies Mark Ingram, A.J. Green, Blaine Gabbert and Jake Locker. The sixth card in the set will be the FIRST trading card produced of former Ohio State quarterback, Terrelle Pryor. SuperVIPs will find a coupon in their VIP package, when brought to the Panini booth, can be exchanged for the set.

Decades Redemption at the National

-Do you believe in miracles? At In The Game, we certainly do.

-In The Game will be creating a special version of Decades the 80s for the National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago August 3rd. Dealers who will have this special version of Decades - 1980's at the National will be announced before the show.

-In the Special National Version of Decades one of the three memorabilia inserts will be replaced by a Chicago Blackhawks Decades Quad Card. There are eight different Chicago Blackhawks Decades Quad cards. This Special National Version of Decades is the only place to find these cards.

-In addition, Dominik Hasek Autograph Cards will be found randomly, in the Special National Version of Decades. Mr. Hasek's autograph cards were received too late to pack out with the other autographs and now collectors have a chance to add this hard-signed autograph card to their collections. Remember, you can only find Dominik Hasek's Decades autograph card in the Special National Version of Decades.

-We believe in miracles! So collectors breaking the Special National Version of Decades will receive a ticket for a free Mark Wells autograph. Mark will be in the In The Game booth on Saturday June 6th from 2:00-4:00pm.

-In addition to all of the above, the Special National Version of Decades also qualify for the In The Game Wrapper Redemption. So in addition to the Mark Wells autograph, you can receive a special In The Game National Decades Redemption Card.


In the Game VIP Program Announced

In The Game is pleased to announce their participation at the 32nd National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago, August 3-7th.

National VIPs can come by the In The Game booth and redeem special cards found in their VIP bags for a 10-card In The Game VIP set.

The In The Game-VIP sets feature ITG team members from Hockey, Baseball and Canadiana.

Collectors breaking boxes of Heroes and Prospects Baseball Series One and Series Two Low Numbers will be able to redeem those boxes for authentic game-used memorabilia cards made exclusively for the 32nd National. Each card will be limited to 20.

There will be single, double and triple authentic game-used memorabilia cards featuring many of the Heroes and Prospects from our products. A Comprehensive Look at Panini America’s 2011 National Wrapper-Redemption Set

The base set for this year’s show in Chicago will incorporate 19 superstars from the worlds of basketball, football, hockey and entertainment (King of Pop, anyone?) on a vertically modified 2011 Donruss Elite Football design that should be warmly embraced by show-goers. The base set will be accompanied by three different parallels (numbered to 25, 10 and 5), including some autographs.
In addition, there are three striking insert sets punctuating this year’s wrapper-redemption spectacle – a ten-card set devoted to the top NFL and NHL rookies of the 2010-11 season, an eight-card School Colors insert that pays tribute to local heroes from the Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks, and a two-card Headliners insert honoring the Super Bowl and Stanley Cup exploits of the Green Bay Packers and Boston Bruins, respectively.

Last year Panini allotted a certain number of redemption packs per day for all 5 days of the show. On Saturday, they did run out about an hour before the show closed, but then they had them again on Sunday.

Upper Deck had only a certain number of redemption packs per day also and they ran out of them very fast so people were lining up 1-2 hours before they started giving them out. If you weren't in line you missed out.

From what I remember, the rest of the companies had plenty and never ran out.

Upper Deck Announces Plans for 32nd Annual National Sports Collectors Convention


On Wednesday, August 3, during the VIP “Sneak Peek” Day, a special six-card, VIP-emblazoned
cello-wrapped set from Upper Deck will be available to all show attendees who show their VIP
passes to The National. The player lineup for this coveted takeaway includes Michael Jordan,
Wayne Gretzky, Sidney Crosby, LeBron James, Bobby Orr and Landon Donovan.

During each public day of the show – Thursday through Sunday – Upper Deck will be conducting
its popular foil pack wrapper redemption program starting at 12 noon. Fans who purchase five
packs of specified Upper Deck card packs from Certified Diamond Dealers at the show will
receive a voucher they can bring to the Upper Deck booth to receive one of four different 2011
National event-exclusive, five-card packs. Each day there will be a different five-card collection
redeemed and they will be available while supplies last. A full list of the acceptable products
will be displayed at the Upper Deck booth with information on which retailers at the show will be
selling them.

On Thursday, the five-card pack will include Michael Jordan, Derrick Rose and Tiger Woods,
while Friday’s lineup includes Jonathan Toews and Greg Maddux. Saturday’s packs will feature
Mike Singletary, LeBron James and Wayne Gretzky, while Sunday’s roster will include such stars
as Bubba Watson, Landon Donovan and Jake Locker. A complete list of all the players available
each day will be posted at the Upper Deck booth. Card packs must be opened at the booth in
front of an Upper Deck representative for redeeming purposes after the customer presents their
redemption voucher. To make things even more exciting, Upper Deck has randomly inserted
autograph cards of several players into some of the packs.

Topps creates exclusive 2011 heritage rookie cards for national

Topps announces it will issue 5 rookie cards (via wrapper redemption) at this year’s National Collector’s Convention that were not included in 2011 Topps Heritage Baseball. Each card will be sequentially numbered to just 299 copies and one subject will be given out per day.
To obtain any one of these cards, collectors must open 5 packs of 2011 Topps/Bowman branded trading cards at the Topps booth. Each customer will be limited to one card per day.

PSA Plans More NSCC Show Promotions, Giveaways


Earlier this week, the company indicated plans to give away a Babe Ruth poster and copies of its monthly magazine, The Sports Card Market Report. The 184-page special edition of SMR is devoted to Chicago area sports legends and their collectibles, including Michael Jordan, Joe Jackson, Ernie Banks, Ryne Sandberg, Ron Santo, Frank Thomas, Bobby Hull and Walter Payton. A 16-page insert in each magazine provides highlights of this year's PSA Set Registry winners.
