Does this mean the prices will increase?

Didn't realize the Olympic stuff was underproduced.

The Olympic stuff is pretty good. It is updated to 2 autos per box. Saw 8 boxes from a case opened this weekend. 2 Michael Phelps Auto (1 sticker and 1 Oncard), 1 Alex Morgan, and 1 Kerri Strug.

this product may have sold out, but only because no one ordered it.
and there is just not a lot of demand for it.

just because they may have made 700-1000 cases and they say it is sold out in no way means there is a high demand for this product. if there was they would have made a lot more.
you guys need think about your responses before you post the same old "business model" responses.

i actually think its a good product. just not a lot of collectors for this right now. it probably came out 2 months too early.

I get the point you are saying but the above quote makes no sense.

If it is truly sold out, demand is high enough to exceed supply. Also with a product like this where they are unsure how well it will do in the market, overproducing would have been a flawed business approach.

I would assume that Topps is treating this like they would the vast majority of their releases and made the just enough product to cover pre-orders (perhaps a smidge more). By doing this, even products with the minimum demand will "sell-out". They apparently made much less than they were planning as autos went from being 1 per hobby box to 1.5 per box.

Topps may say these products are sold out, but that dosen't take in account all the distributors and everyone else who has lots sitting in the warehouse. if the product was truly in demand, the price would be higher than where it is now, which is low presell.

I would expect that the product will pick up quite a bit of steam as the games approach.

I did quite well with the Olympics product, though part of that was probably due to getting my stuff listed the first day and hitting four phelps in three cases.
