hey guys esp from MD, I have never been to a national. I was just wondering, because people were talking trash on the town. I wanted to know its gonna be safe for me to bring some cards with me and take some home without the worries of crime and hooligans messing with buyers from the national.

oh my god yes. Just avoid certain parts and you are fine. All of the stuff around the Convention Center are in a very nice area.

I would've thought a "cardboardkilla" would be a little tougher.

+1 on Pizza John's. Also, I recommend The Corner Stable on York Road for the best ribs and crabcakes, and McCabe's on Falls Road for a great burger.

Question:
What is the best way to travel for the day to the convention center in Baltimore, from Washington, DC?

I plan to go up in the morning and come back and night, but don't own a car. I was thinking of taking Amtrak to Penn st., and then finding a way to the center (2 mi. away).

Anybody with experience in the area have better ideas?
Advice is GREATLY appreciated. I don't feel like spending 40$+ just to get there and back in a day.

If you are getting off the Amtrack at Penn Station then all you have to do is walk up the platform to the Light Rail. Hop on the train that is marked BWI airport. That will take you right to the Convention Center. It stops right across the street from it actually. If you reach Camden Yards you have gone too far.

Awesome, thanks so much. I appreciate it. I think that's exactly what I'm going to do.

Hey Jets, how close would the Amtrak get me to the Nats stadium? Would love to try to catch a game.

So will it be easier to drive to the Nats game or take the train?

Amtrak would get you to Union Station. You can then hop on the metro and get to the stadium in about 20 mins. Cost would be about 3 bucks a person each way. A taxi to the stadium from Union st. would be about 10-15 bucks.

To take the metro, go to L'Enfant plaza from Union station, then hop on the greenline to the Navy yard.

It's nice how they price out everything by the station, makes it easier to waste less if you are only taking a couple rides on the Metro.
