Cowboys Replace Memorabilia Collection of Robbery Victim
There are so many stories that focus on the selfish and aloof natures of today's modern athletes that it's always refreshing to hear some more positive tales. Dallas Cowboys linebacker Bradie James deserves just such recognition for his part in aiding a Cowboys fan whose collection was recently stolen by thieves. Butch Franklin, a 53-year old mentally disabled fan, took great pride in his array of autographed items, including a poster signed by Dallas quarterback Tony Romo. Three weeks after his apartment was broken into and cleared out, James heard the story and decided to do something about it. Among the items that James delivered to Franklin were an autographed mini-helmet, football and jersey, plus one of his own #56 jerseys. "That's crazy (the robbery) but things happen and when things happen we have to step up and do something positive." James told Dallas TV station KDAF. "You know you're doing something that can make an impact in someones life positively, it's part of living your purpose. "It takes a long time to get a lot of memorabilia that he stored up so I just wanted to contribute and add on to his new collection." James said. Not to be outdone by the defense, the Cowboys offense also contributed to the cause with a unique collectible. Linemen Cory Proctor, Leonard Davis and Mark Columbo all signed a seat from recently retired Texas Stadium that was personally delivered to Franklin by Proctor.

Glad to see the Cowboy Organization (specifically James) did the right thing. For a few minutes of their time signing the seat and other memorabilia Butch Franklin's world has changed for the better.
