(EISNER TELLS VARIETY HE'LL PUSH INTERNET VIDEO)
Michael Eisner is talking to Hollywood pubs but hasn't as of yet given an interview to any hobby publications directly. The closest was the quotes TBR received when Eisner spoke to KNX 1070 News Radio in Los Angeles where TBR has direct connections.
Recently the new owner of Topps told Daily Variety he has yet to come up with a formula for making video on the Internet feasible and profitable.
"We're still in the experimental stage and we're trying to think about new ways of doing series, new lengths and new relationships with advertisers and international financiers," he told Variety's technology section. "Vuguru (Eisner's new media studio) has four or five different projects in the works," for 2008 and most of which "marry traditional entertainment with digital entertainment."
As for Topps Eisner is only hinting in a general direction.
"We're about to embark on all sorts of digital strategies in sports and sports collecting," he said. "Bringing things from the 3-D collectibles world to the cyber world."
Eisner has said Bazooka Joe is a big part of his plans. Whether there is a mixed media movie in the works featuring Bazooka Joe and major sports stars, ala "Sports Jam" with Michael Jordan and Warner Brothers several years ago, is anybodies guess.
