Upper Deck is bringing Exquisite Collection to baseball for 2010

Although its plans have not yet been officially unveiled, Upper Deck is bringing its Exquisite Collection line of high-end cards to its 2010 baseball lineup.

The super-premium product revolutionized basketball cards in recent years but never was a full standalone product for baseball under that name. Instead, Exquisite cards were inserts in 2006 and then the brand morphed into Exquisite Collection Rookie Signatures in 2007.

In 2010, Exquisite Collection will be a component in each and every baseball set from the company, which will produce cards licensed by the MLB Players Association, but not Major League Baseball.

Look for autos of baseball legends such as Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, and Lebron James!

Unless they get Babe, Mantle, etc.... this wont fly very well.

ever since the Topps/CMG deal went down (Ruth, Gehrig, as Topps 'exclusives', etc), UD hasn't really had a foot to stand on. If you don't have rookies or the legends/superstars, you are in trouble...

I think UD should just cut its losses and focus solely on hockey and football, the only two sports it still has a reasonable grip on. Leave BK to Panini and BB to Topps/Bowman...

sooner or later exquisite is giong to be as common as ud series 1.

So it sounds like this won't be a standalone product, but will just be inserts in UDs other baseball releases.

While I buy more then my share of cases and boxes non-liscensed 2010 UD baseball products will not be on my list of future rips. You or whomever else can rip and list and I'll just buy the all the singles I want for usually around 20% of what the all those boxes cost you ;)

I'm calling one cut signature in every 3 box case (at least!).

In 2010, Exquisite Collection will be a component in each and every ORC and WARLORD set from the company, which will produce cards including a PAPA HUMMEL'S PET BISCUIT LOOT LOGOMAN 1/3000 as well as cards like a one color THUNDERHEAD HIPPOGRYPH manufactured patch Card with sticker autos #'d to /846. Man, your geeky spazoid friends are gonna be [I]sooooooo [/I]jealous when you pull that $3 dollar card!!! :eek::eek::eek:

These are inserts scattered in the 2010 UD products so no 3 box cases of just Exquiste. They're trying to entice people to buy their non-liscensed products by using the Exquisite lure.
