First Look: 2009-10 SP Authentic Hockey

In a move that might be considered cruel and unusual punishment for hardcore hockey collectors, Upper Deck on Monday released a handful of drool-worthy images from 2009-10 SP Authentic.

The cruel and unusual part? The product doesn’t release until around April 1, 2010 — no fooling. The good news, though, is that the product appears to be well worth the wait based on the following images.

2009-10 SP Authentic — five cards per pack, 24 packs per box — will deliver three autograph cards per box (including one Future Watch RC), three SP Essentials inserts and two SP Holo F/X cards. Each case of the perennially embraced product should yield one to two autographed Future Watch Patch cards, one to two Rookie Review Patch cards, one Sign of the Times dual auto and one SP Holo F/X Die-Cut.

That should be enough to whet the appetite. Now, enjoy the scenery.
