Wholesale order window opens this week for NBCD

Hobby retailers and authorized Topps and Upper Deck distributors interested in purchasing card packs created specially for this year's National Baseball Card Day event will be able to begin placing orders Wednesday. Orders for the 100-pack boxes of cards must be placed by Feb. 22.

Each pack will contain 13 cards – five base cards from Topps and five base cards from Upper Deck (the same base cards will be found in every pack), as well as one of three insert cards from Topps and one of three insert cards from Upper Deck. The final card in each pack will be an informational card.

Hobby store owners who have direct accounts with Topps or Upper Deck can order the 100-pack kits via a special link on the Topps and Upper Deck dealer websites, or via participating authorized distributors. Each kit carries a $50 price tag. Stores that order kits will also receive a window poster and have access to press releases that can be customized for their local markets.

This year's National Baseball Card Day will take place in hobby shops and select MLB ballparks on March 29. Participating retailers will be asked to give out free packs of cards to their customers during the event. Packs will also be available to customers who visit MLB.com.
