That's what I was wondering. Looks like the same typeface except they got rid of the "leaf" and the oval around it.

I know most will probably disregard this news and keep bashing that company, but this is really big news!! Having the leaf name gives them instant credibility with collectors, whether you think they deserve that credibility or not. I hope they do big things with it too! Less repackaged products and more real products. I'd love to see them attack the baseball prospect market again with the Leaf name as long as they stop doing direct ebay sales of singles, etc. Its nice seeing that logo back on cards... I just hope they capitalize on this opportunity and not run the brand into the ground like Upper Deck did with Fleer.

I can not agree more. This is a huge step in the right direction, and I hope they don't mess it up. I'm in utter shock still. The logo just brings back memories of 1990 all over again. The plain jane Leaf logo right there.

Intersting. So DLP could have sold the rights to the Leaf trademark to Razor then. Or perhaps Panini could have got it when they aquired DLP and then sold it. Either way it is not an issue. Really a great concept though.

The LCS owner told me that Donruss had to pay Leaf a little royalty fee when they used the name Leaf. They dropped the Leaf name when Panini bought them.

Lets not forget that Upper Deck is connected with Razor/Leaf... Keep in mind that a tiger doesn't change his stripes.

I talked to the guy at the leaf booth today for a good 30 mins. They didn't aquire any major sports licenses so I wouldn't expect anything big. They did however sign a bunch of big name MMA guys (same that was to appear in razor mma, now leaf mma) and a bunch of poker players. What I took from talking with him is that they will be concentrating on these product lines, but made no mention as to the repackaged products.
