My first card, got it from a local card shop. Something about this guy made me love baseball so much.

being a diehard gators fan i found this auto during this past offseason when his future was unclear and no one knew if he'd make it in Houston. Now he is in Washington with McNabb and doing fairly well this preseason. He is a tremendous QB and I hope he gets a chance to prove it again. I love this card because its an oncard auto and a rookie auto and I won it for about 2.50 on ebay.

Default I can smell the gum...

My favorite card is one I've had off and on in various conditions. I was 10 in 1965 and my older brother and I would save up and buy boxes of 1965 Topps at the local candy store for $2.40. That was for 24 packs!

Here's an eBay link to a search for 1965 Topps Maris Roger Maris Topps 1965

Best to All,
VinnyH

Default 1980 George Brett

1980 Topps George Brett

- 1980 Topps is my favorite set of baseball cards and as a kid I was always enticed by the colorful All-Star logos of the series.

What makes this card in particular my favorite of all time is that I lost it at age 7 in 1982. In my neighborhood growing up we used to play this game called flipping where you would literally throw your cards onto the street or sidewalk, taking turns doing so. The first person to cover any of the other cards on the ground with one of their own cards would win everything on the ground. Clearly the cards mattered but the condition didn't.

So one day I was swayed to throw down the Brett as much as I didn't want to and lost it. Afterwards the kid I lost it to refused to throw it down again. My mistake but a valuable lesson learned. You take a gamble with every pack you open but you don't have to with the cards in your hand.

I own the card today, but now I look to have a PSA 10 set of all the All-Star cards of that year including George Brett.

Talking The Card I Wished (& Prayed) I Had!

It was Brett Favre and the Packers that made me give up my Power Ranger toys and throw on a Football Jersey....But it was Cal Ripken Jr that I pretended to be in the back yard and who made me APPRECIATE and LOVE The Great American Past Timel!

Being from Southern California and having your greatest sports hero not be a Laker/Raider/Dodger was tough but I stuck to it.
I remember I got into Football because of the Hitting but I got into Baseball because of its Simple yet Complicated play and because of Cal Ripken Jr.

I took a second to think about what card I would want the most and even though a 1/1 Auto would be nice I dont think I would choose any other card over this one:

It's funny because I dont see myself getting older everytime a Birthday comes around (I'm 24) but I do feel the passage of time when one of my Sports Heroes Retires....First went Cal......Favre did it to me countless times and I think I will cry when Derek Jeter retires....

But to cut a long story short one day the Gem of my collection will be this 1982 Donruss Cal Ripken Jr Rookie Card.

Awesome cards, guys. However, the contest calls for TOPPS cards. I will have to list mine when I get home. Thanks for the contest, Blowout!

I mentioned it so even those two could still get in on this contest with a favorite Topps card.

One of the first cards to my westbrook pc, and my g/f thought he was cute in the picture so she has bought me a few pc cards of him, an auto jersey, and surprised me last year with front row seats directly behind the OKC bench when they came to indy, I guess she likes him more than I do haha

I first got into collecting in 2006, Topps Triple Threads was my first hobby box I had ever ordered and I spent all the money I had at the time doing so.

This is the card I was hoping to get

REGGIE BUSH RC 06 TRIPLE THREADS TRIPLE JERSEY AUTO /99 - eBay (item 390145675797 end time Sep-16-10 20:45:24 PDT)

I ended up geting a Maurice Stovall Jersey Auto and Leinart,Bush,White Triple Jersey

I was happy to get the triple jersey with bush in it still.

Thanks, Mark

I would say this sterling mike schmidt, as 06-08 Topps sterling was my favorite product for a while.

Default Matt Ryan 2008 Topps Mayo Auto...

Here's my favorite Topps card:

I saw the card on the sell sheets and I wanted it pretty badly. I bought two boxes of Mayo and hoped for the best. I was lucky enough to pull the card out of the first box. I'm not really a Matt Ryan collector but it was nice to buy a box with the goal of pulling a specific card and actually doing it for once.
