Default SCN Highlights 06/20/08

Here is what's going on in the market this week:

It is a slow week for new releases. 2008 Topps Chrome Baseball is the best release this week. Could be a sleeper with the 2 Rookie Autos per box. Plus many distributors ordered light. Usually when this happens, based on the rookie content, it could be another 2005 Topps Chrome Update type of surprise. Keep an eye on the breaks.

As for the rest of the market:

2008 UD Legendary Cuts Baseball is still the hottest product this week. We are hearing that only about half of the distributors were able to release the product and may not be able to release the rest. They may be sent back to UD in the coming weeks. We are also hearing some rumors that the 2008 UD Series 2 Baseball product may also fall into the same category as the Legendary Cuts. Let's wait and see what happens in the next few days. Just some rumors.

2008 UD USA Team Baseball took a spike higher to $90-$95 a Box. 2008 Prestige Football also hitting almost the $100 mark. 2007/08 UD Ultimate Collection Hockey pushing towards $300 a box. 2007/08 UD Premier Basketball also over $325 a Box. Also moving higher are Yu-gi-oh! Gold, WOW March of Legions, WOW Fires Outland and Light of Destruction Boosters.

As for the presells, 2007/08 UD The Cup Hockey is moving up fast. Has not disappointed collectors the last 2 years and looks solid again. We are also hearing rumors that 2008 Topps Triple Threads Baseball will be even more loaded with added content and potential distributor cuts which is why that product is trending even higher. Could come out hitting the $3000+ mark.

That is it for this week. Check out our reviews this week and please email us if you have any suggestions.

No way this is 2005 Topps Chrome Update revisited. No chance.

I wouldn't think the amount produced would be related to how much was ordered. Is that how they do products like that, ones where production isn't specifically noted? I mean sure it could not have been heavily ordered initailly but it'd still have been made, right?
