Don't knock it unless you've been there. While all the stats involving crime, murder rate, etc. are legit, it's isolated to certain parts of the city which are very easily avoided. The Inner Harbor and surrounding areas are wonderful tourist attractions - not to mention the ballpark and the improving Orioles (now up 8-0 and about to take 2 of 3 against this year's bandwagon favorite - the Cubs).

I like Baltimore in November, its one of the best fall cities in America. Like where I live NEPA, I don't think you want to be around Dec-March.

A bunch of us firefighters from the Northeast go to Baltimore every year for the Firehouse Expo at the convention center. It is the most looked forward to event that we do. The inner harbor is a great time, except most of the time we never make it past the Downtown Sports Exchange, or DSX as it is affectionately called.
