Default Indiana Jones KOTCS Case Break - Scans

Hi All,

Broke an 8 box case of Indiana Jones KOTCS the other day from the 12 days of Christmas special. Was hoping you could help identify/tell me if any of the sketch cards are any good? I got a total of 8 sketches (2 in 1 box) and 2 autos. The autos were Ray Winstone and Pasha Lychnikoff (Pasha not scanned below. All are available for trade for baseball/basketball/football/hockey cards.

Comments/help is much appreciated!

Thanks,
Zach

The middle row middle is John-Watkins Chow and is a very nice sketch for this release. The bottom row left is by Leah Mangue and her work is always very well done. Those 2 are probably the best of the bunch. Nice break.

Who is the bottom middle? I have one of those -- I'm slowly breaking my KOTCS case.

Thanks for your help Tai!! Looking at other posts it looks like you know a great deal about this stuff. Any idea in terms of value on these 2 as well as the auto?

That sketch is by Ryan Waterhouse. It is worth a buck or less in most cases because that image has been repeated at least 1000 times. He is probably the most hated sketch card artist out there

I wouldn't put a value over $25 on either sketch but that is only because this release is not really collected as much by the same people who are into the other Indy releases(Indy Masterpieces and Indy Heritage). The majority of the sketches are considered poorly done so there is not much interest with KOTCS. The auto not scanned can go anywhere from $3-5 and the Winstone might go for a bit more $8-10 on a good day. If you don't want to lose money you should have them at BIN prices because I've seen some quality autos and even sketches go for pennies on auction while the same cards are occasionally hit via BIN or best offer. This is only due to the fact that this release is the last thing on the minds of most sketch collectors. Some breakers were ready to burn down Topps headquarters when this set released because the quality was spread so thin on overproduction. I'm sure many dealers lost a ton of money on this release. In contrast though, your break is pretty good and don't forget the numbered cards(~8 or so per case) since collectors might still be trying to complete that set.

Looks like the first two in the top row are by Karen Krajenbrink, and the third one is Howard Shum. Second row left looks like Cynthia Cummens, right is Brent Woodside.

i disagree, i think these sell pretty well, iv had good luck with em, the auto u have pictured iv sold as much as 15-20 and the other for about 10.

as for sketches

cho 14-18
karen k 5-10
menge, id put at least 50 on that. if not more, then you can always take a offer.
most of the rest sit in the 5-10 area,

Here are the odds of pulling the artists on your sketches
From Left to Right, Top to Bottom
I'd say you did very well pulling (3) sketches from artists whose odds are 1:5,515 packs.
I've seen many cases with 0-1 sketch from an artist with that high of odds.

Karen Krajenbrink 1:1,838
Karen Krajenbrink 1:1,838
Howard Shum 1:919
Cynthia Cummens 1:5,515
John Watkins-Chow 1:5,515
Brent Woodside 1:183
Leah Mangue 1:5,515
Ryan Waterhouse 1:183

I'm interested in both autos. I have plenty to trade, but my tradelist is sorely out of date. Is there anything more specific I could look for to offer? I have more baseball than anything.
