I forsee the prices on this product to drop by 500-1000 over the next month.

If it doesn't drop much over the next month it will only be because Barack/McCain dual and Abraham Lincoln solo cut have not been pulled. I would say those two are the last big hits in it.

There are a few big hits left. JFK/Marilyn Monroe will be big. Anything with JFK will sell well, and there are several of those. I do agree with you though...pack prices will plummet now. They can pick back up again if the remaining "bad" cards are pulled and announce before the remaining good ones.

If there are only a handful of packs left unopened, and the Lincoln and/or Kennedy cards are left, those packs will probably go up over $3000.

This is an easy one...

Get a hold of Beckett. Let them sell it for you. They will advertise it. People with DEEP pockets trust them, and it will sell for at least twice as much going this route, and probably 5-10 times more. Trust me. I'm sure several others on here will agree with me as some of them have used their service with outstanding results.

Good luck!

I would say for really high end items, ebay is the worst way to go. First you have the threat of chargebacks, paypal problems, etc. Second, I think a lot of high end collectors do not regularly buy on ebay (and a lot probably only deal with auction houses), so unless you got some national exposure through the media, you wouldn't get the bidding you would want.

Beckett is a decent avenue, although I would say getting 5-10x more through them is not realistic. I'm not even sure it would be double... it would all depend on the advertising they do. I do agree it would be worth paying Beckett to sell it though, since they would have to do all the work and deal with problems with payment.

It might also be worth looking into different auction houses, some might do a better job than Beckett. Just depends on how long you want to wait until you get paid. Beckett can probably sell it faster, since an auction house might not be able to include it in an auction for 3-6 months. But it might be worth going with an auction house that specializes in Presidential autographs for example. While this is a card, the question is whether a card collector will buy it, or if a Washington/Lincoln autograph collector will buy it. Someone who collects just vintage autographs might not even know about Beckett or wouldn't check their website looking to buy autographs.

but the person who collects only Washington/Lincoln autographs would know that he could get fully signed documents cheaper.... and would care less that it is a "collectible card".

you want a "card" collector to buy this. they're the ones who would be willing to pay big bucks for it.

Beckett has proven these kind of returns in the past for at least one member on here that sold bat barrels from Topps Sterling. I won't say how much, but if he wants to, that would be great. If I remember correctly, he talked about a HUGE difference in selling prices from using Beckett as apposed to selling on Ebay by yourself.

BINGO BINGO on above

AS for aggie4ever partly quoting your post *** But it might be worth going with an auction house that specializes in Presidential autographs for example. While this is a card.****
The auction houses that specialize in Presidential autographs deal 99% of the time complete documents signed because for the historical facts enclosed not just the auto..
Personally I feel the auction house would be horrified that such a document, check, post card etc...would be destroyed just to encase a Presidential autograph in a fancy plastic case.
Just my opinion Beckett ebay is the best place to go and they will hype this to the fullest degree .Best bang for your $$$$$

Just to sum up, here are the cards that have been sold on Ebay so far:

#6 - Ulysses S. Grant - $7000 (BIN)
#36 - John Tyler - $1010 (Auction)
#67 - Nixon/Ford - $810 (Auction)
#81 - Reagan/Gorbachev - $1210 (Auction)
#94 - Harry & Bess Truman - $1009 (Auction)

One factor for people to consider in discussing these prices is that presidential signatures are not exactly scarce items. Even in the absence of the collectibles industry as we know it now, people would have kept anything signed by a president as a personal memento or family heirloom, and presidents do sign a lot of documents, both in and out of office.

George Washington signatures are reasonably common and typically sell for $4000-$5000, for example, simply because he was famous for a long time and anything he signed would have been kept by the receipient.

Lincoln signature is probably the scarcest of all the presidents simply because he was not famous before becoming president and therefore signed relatively few items due to his assassination.

The first post is updated to make it easier to follow...just in case anyone didn't know.

I'm seeing only one money maker so far with another one that will eventually make some serious cash.

If I owned a pack, I know I wouldn't have the guts to rip...but then again I don't even spend a buck on the lotto.

I'm confused, with Grant having sold at $7k according to the above, certainly GW and GW/AL will make serious coin.

Not that I disagree with your overall comment.

I would think about buying one if there were only a few left and a solid hit out there.

You're right, 2 good money makers not 1...totally missed the GW

If a big hit is left and the packs are on the market, good luck getting a loan at the bank to buy it because, the price is going to be even steeper (like 4-5K)!
