Obviously, everyone here respects the rules enough to follow them, or they will get banned. Why not go just a little further and do our best to respect as many members and their feelings/beliefs as possible?

Of course this works both ways, but nobody will be offended if there is no swearing "of any kind". There are other words that work just fine.

I'm not offended by swearing, as long as it's not being done in front of my wife or kids. However, you won't see me doing it out of respect for others.
Then why can't you respect a persons right to swear and use language they want. If you don't want kids/wife ect ect to hear then move along.

If a bear shits in the woods and you hang around complaining about the smell.. who's the idiot?

Everyone can have their own ideas and beliefs, and there is no reason to disrespect others (unless those beliefs cause harm to others).

This is of course much bigger and a lot more important than a bear defecating in the woods. And thus, some things are worth complaining about.

I absolutely do respect a person't right to free speech as long as it's not offensive. If other, less offensive words can be used, why not use them? Is it because people "want" to be offensive? I say, of course.

We should all probably change the subject back to the original topic before this whole thing gets deleted.

As long as everyone stays grown up, there's no need for it to be deleted. Although I agree, why not get back on topic.

Well FDR bombed plenty of people before he died, and people tend to forget that while the Atomic bombings were horrible, the firebombing of cities killed way more people.

To the OP. Great pull and it is one that every person on this board (whether they will admit it or not) would be happy to pull. I hope it brings a nice chunk of change when you sell it.

Is there anywhere in the last few pages where Tim has updated what he is going to do with the piece?

You can't please everyone all the time, no matter how hard you try.

Having said that...I'm afraid I'm disinclined to acquiesce to your request.

Or could it be that some people search for something "offensive" in everything others say and do.

I'm sure some do, but like me, I doubt the majority does. Usually what's offensive jumps right out at people.

Could be. All I know is I have heard plenty of church going folks say things like "god damn it" and "jesus christ". This makes me think that it really isn't that big of an issue, unless if you are one of those who want to act like their poop smells like roses and never do anything that someone could find fault with.

My poop smells like lavender that a skunk crawled under and died.

No need to defend yourself here. Just because someone would be interested in owning the cut, doesn't make that person a neo-Nazi/racist/bigot or encourages that behavior. And I think that's one of the main takeways that I think people should get from this thread, besides a congratulations to Tim for the super pull.

You are absolutely right. I would not mind owning this cut as a piece of history. That is exactly how it should be looked at, it is a signature from a document from an important time in our history.

I was in a shop yesterday that had German and Japanese daggers, helmets, pistol swords etc... The owner actually had some of Hitlers flatware as well. (he also had a PSA 6 52 Mantle) I would love to own any these. Does that make me a bad person?

Does anyone know what Tim has decided to do with the piece.

I should add that I would love to have any of our pieces as well. There is something about having the item and just imagining where it came from and what it went through. I love historical pieces and antiques.
