Default 2012 Leaf Oval Office Break

Busted 1 today at the LCS.

outer box, signed by Brian Gray:

inner wooden box, very nice quality

inner box, with velvet graded card pouch

and the card itself.

Was hoping for something 19th or 18th century, but not the worst to get I guess. Nice bold sig and cut well.

Enjoy the pics.

I think BG said only 261 of the 276 were actually made, must have skipped one or something. They must not be 1-261.

yeah, thanks. Our LCS only ordered one box, not sure the max a dealer can be allocated direct.

I assumed he meant Barry, the former Upper Deck customer service rep circa 2007-2009... He sure was a 'gem'

Now that I got an evening's rest, I think the reference is to Barry Goldwater. But yeah, I remember the UD Barry

It basically just says "authentic cut signature which Leaf guarantees as authentic". Perhaps BG / Leaf on their website can re-confirm who authenticated what cuts.

thanks Matt. I saw that too. Unfortunately unless it says on the card back, many people not in the know may be skeptical that it was authenticated.

Thanks for the info.

I also read BG's statement concerning the authentication services, but I was hoping that he could write it down in any way. Imo it would make the card much more appealing.
And I would also absolutely agree with you saying "Unfortunately unless it says on the card back, many people not in the know may be skeptical that it was authenticated.", especially in the long-term I guess.
I mean how hard can it be to simply name on of the two authentication services on the back - UD did it with,I think, 5000 cuts.

Nonetheless, nice product and a very nice cut you pulled there.

All leaf cuts are run through PSA and JSA. I must say these look much better than that other crappy president set.

What I really like about Oval is the label stating this is outer box, inside is shrink wrapped wooden box w/ security seals etc. My 1600 box came w/ a big rip in the shrink wrap(box came from Southern Distrib.) I know they're on the level but others may not be. Dr. Price you need to add two small tamper labels on $1500 boxes, I bought 2 re sealed Horrors of War off ebay(I returned successfully, seller knew he was caught), Leaf used to not have them either, remember Historical Cuts, a higher end product, had a lot of resealing going on. That's the ONLY thing I don't care for (which has nothing to do with the look and content of 1600- that I love ). Also, Oval Office has 5 Ford, 5 Ford/Betty Ford, 5 Carter/Ford, 5 Carter, 5 Carter/Rosalynn boxes, that's 25-$1500 boxes(over $37K!!) with no shot at a second cut or base cards to help ease the pain!!

For what it is worth I asked brian via pm why the boxes didn't have tamper proof security.
His response was as followes:

I can honestly say I don't know why, seems like it would have been a great idea I will certainly share it with our production staff for future products Thanks for taking the time to bring this to my attention. Brian

Virtually all cuts were PSA/DNA with only a handful JSA.

Lastly, we stand behind and guarantee all cuts in the product.
I have been in this business for 24 years and Chris Park or Thomas Fish at Blowout can tell you with certainty that we stand behind our product.. BG

I don't want to annoy with this by no means, but since I absolutely love and prefer cut signatures, it is a very important point for me knowing by whom the cut signature has been authenticated. So I would also guess it is not tough to simply name the authentication service on the back of the card, so this fact is ensured long-terms.
Maybe you can consider that in your next cut signature releases. Personally, I would love to see that and I guess I am not the only one who is interested in a long-term maintenance of value because many people are forgetful.

Hi.. we do this on our executive cuts, but often we print before we even have the cuts procured (especially when names/photos are used on cards)...

With that being said, virtually all (with the exception of literally a handful of pieces) have been authenticated by PSA...

Brian,

Are you releasing a full checklist of this product?

Triple Cards in Plano,TX may hold a group break but wanted to see a full checklist to understand how to coordinate and split the slots up on the group break

Sorry for the hi-jack!

I'm in a group break on two boxes, one box I have J.Q. Adams, Fillmore, and Coolidge, the other box I have Old Hickory, RB Hayes, Zachary Taylor and Reagan.
