Hi all,
A friend and I will be cracking 72 boxes of Star Trek this coming friday and into saturday. Got a great price on the cases and with the success of the film, felt it was a great investment. We will post a box by box breakdown once I arrive in Los Angeles with the cases. Keep you all Posted. |

Well this is my friend and mine thinking ..
6 cases cost me $4258 the 6 case case topper is going for anywhere from $600 to $1200 depending on which one you get. the 3 cases case topper is going for about $80. it looks like currently out of a case of star trek, on average, you are getting 8 autographs and 16 costumes cards. Costume cards are roughly $15 to $25 each on Ebay. Autos - Chris Pine - $300-400 JJ Abrams - $160-180 Spock variation - $250 + two writers - $80 each rest of the crew - 40-80 Looks like on average in autos per case you get 1 pine abrams or the writers 3-5 of the limited autos - which is the crew of the Bridge and Bana 2-3 of the common autos roughly 4 mini master sets per case - $45 a set and a chance at an archive box. Archive boxes are going for $1300. We just didnt see how we can lose out especially with the case toppers. |

Your probably right...but you had to fork out the big bucks to get the Toppers to help seal the deal. Key will also be how quickly you can either get them broke and/or listed as I'm not sure how high the prices will stay.

You could do very will with the 6 case incentive cards. I don't know if you know but there are several different badges you can get, the Cadet Badge is numbered out of 65 and are all the same and there are 40 Starfleet Badges but out of that 40 there are 4 different types, each with only a very few made:
Engineering - 5 Science - 10 Medical - 15 Command - 10 Also, if you had gone for 15 cases the additional incentive was an Archive box which has every insert, every costume card and every Autograph card (the only thing it doesn't have is the 6 case incentive card), although as you said, you still have a chance of finding a hidden Archive Box in your cases but I believe there are usually only 10-15 of those in the whole run. If this were not Star Trek I'd agree with you, but Trekkies will buy this stuff until the last Star in Quadrant X-11 of the Stellon Galaxy fades.

i'm in full agreement that rittenhouse stuff needs to be broken and flipped asap. example, when 007 came out a customer at the lcs pulled a famke auto. was going for $200+ i believe on the first day and was struggling to sell it for around $100. hopefully you get really sweet pulls. good luck
