Except for bottom left and center they seem average to above average.
I don't get the design of the card. Why would Cryptozoic waste the bottom 1/2 inch with a design? Way to take away from sketch space!

Loving that Kilowog! I agree on the wasted space at the bottom of the cards, glad a few of those artists ignored it and used it anyways.

You pulled a few nice sketches. Thanks for sharing this break. As someone above posted I am not that familiar with the DC characters so only a couple ring a bell with me.

Seems kind of a mixed bag... a few so-so sketches and a few outstanding ones. My biggest gripe is the new DC logo. Lame and completely forgettable... why fix what wasn't broke?
But that has nothing to do with the cards... nice sketches!

Naturally with the previews they're going to show the cream of the crop. A lot of the previews were the oversized ones, which are also going to look better when the artists have more room to work with.
With 6,000 boxes estimated, that's 6,000 sketch cards. If you're expecting 6,000 Glebes, you should also expect to pay $100+ for a box. At the price point these are at, I think the sketches look good. If you're looking only for sketches that impress your personal tastes, the secondary market will always be the way to go. You can spend the same amount of money and get something you want without the frustration of knowing you paid for cards you don't like.

did artists get returns or blanks for this set? cuz that's another way to go ... commission the artist on an official card blank

Sorry, perhaps it was too late at night when I made this post. Our family loves opening the sketch card cases. Just used to the kids going "wow" when they open some of the sketch's and just didn't get that this time (usually just a weird look on their face). Seems like the Marvel sketches from Rittenhouse have more detail and they are not all head shots like a lot of these. Perhaps it was not knowing the characters as well (although the boys picked out Kilowog and Sinestro right away).
Really liked the insert sets. If curious there was one complete parallel set, 2 complete die cut lantern sets, and 2 complete lenticular work in progress sets for the case.
