Marvel Premier Box Break

I had to get some supplies and somehow a box of Marvel Premier ended up in the cart so I could get free shipping

I figured since I had picked up so many singles, I'd take a shot at the lottery on one box before they get hard to find.

I'd say I did pretty well. Cherniga sketches are not easy to find and obviously I got one of the best subjects. Hinged sketch is okay. And I did well subject wise on the base and shadow box.

I may actually break even on this one--I'll have to see. Everything will be for sale. I really like the Cherniga, but I told myself ahead of time that I would sell what I got unless it was one of the artists or subjects that I PC so I'm sticking to that.

It's funny--my Cherniga Captain America has been sitting around for a couple of weeks now and I couldn't get a bite. I priced this a little above that one and -poof-

Definitely a bit harder to break even on this but most of the time you come pretty close or maybe make a bit depending how long you sit on the sketches. Might take a few listing tries but I manage to usually do so on the boxes I've opened. Just tough to afford a box, maybe the next holiday sale they'll show up.

Nice break though....

Wow, if a sketch like that Spider-Man only goes for $150 these days then the market really is in a funk. A few years ago something like that would be selling $500+.
I don't even collect sketches anymore (well, I have 2 left), but I'd probably have made an exception at that price.

Well, I may have just screwed myself, but this one has been sitting around so I thought $150 might be pushing it:

Yeah, but the one thing you have to realize with that set is the fact that the sketches are a set, too. You well know that there are a bunch of people out there working on base sets of just sketches. When a top notch quality sketch comes along of a character they need, it'll get more $. Perfect example is the few White Queen's that I sent offers on. I sent well over what similar works were going for but, nothing. They eventually sold, more than likely because they were the best looking ones available. If you're working on the set, well, I think those people are more than willing to pay extra for it. The Spidey a perfect example.

Yeah, that's a fair point, but I'd guess I'd say that Captain is the best one I had seen for that character too (which was why I got it to begin with)

In any case, it's more than I initially expected it to go for, so I'm happy. Just surprised it went so quickly.

If you post another thread complaining about how bad your box of Panini 'whatthehellever' was, just bash your face into a 2x4 with rusty nails sticking out. Buying their products is about just as smart.
