Thanks all,
I dont particularly collect Marvel/Spidey related sketches, i see some recent past sales from $100 ++ or do i throw it on the Bay @ $500 OBO ??

Any idea on value ?

I have already recd several expression of interests, of course everyone fishing for price

I'd prefer this sketch go to a Spiderman or Marvel collector, rather than 1/one nice sketch in my PC, which really doesnt fit, having said that, i certainly dont want to give it away

Any ideas would be welcomed

Thanks,
Andrew

The bad news is Acar sketches aren't worth as much as they once were.

The good news is this is an earlier one and will be perceived as being of a better quality than some of her recent packed out efforts.

Personally, I wouldn't take less than $200 for it.

Thanks, really appreciate your comments, i was personally thinking a little higher (considering quality & Spiderman character), however no doubt that is the salesman within

Thx again

Before Bronze Age, I'd say $300-400, but that product killed resale for her stuff.

You never know though, maybe someone will have to have it and you'll get a lot more. I hope it works out

Wow, I just checked completed listings -- all of her Marvel sales in completed are between $80 and $150. . . I had no idea prices had collapsed like that.

I think she produces interesting work and very high quality (generally), but never understood the mystique that pushed the prices up to the stratosphere.

With all due respect, the ones that are gonig between $80-$150 tned to be her much more simplistic style. If the right buyers see it, I can certainly see it fetching $250-$300

Yeah, you've got something much better than some of the more recent pieces for sure. Quality sketches from the sets that are more known for low quality tend to be quite valuable, especially with a character like Spider Man. I think the $400 to $500 BIN or BO is a reasonable start. I don't think it'd go for that but you might be surprised if there's somebody out there that's been waiting for it to show up.

I am not cherry picking numbers -- check completed auctions -- all of her Marvel cards sold for between $80-$152.95 when I search. (Plus an AP which was higher).

I don't follow Marvel cards much, certainly other sets may command more, but there were around 20 sales in completed, so it isn't like I looked at 2 completed auctions and made an observation . . . I have no clue what this card will sell for -- it's very nice. . . In general I'm surprised her cards are selling this low now. . .

I think she had an incident with a collector from
Scoundrel and that might have hurt her popularity as well. Also, her sketches are great but no artist can hit a home run on every piece in an artistic sense. This is definitely one of her better sketches though an I would bet 250-300 would be the mark for it.

I didn't mean that you were, I was simply pointing out the commonality that they shared aside from the AP that went for five hondo.

It depends on how much of a rush you are in to sell it. If you have patience, you should expect to eventually get at least $300 for that sketch. Ignore recent Acar sales. Her recent sketches have lost the magic she was known for, but these older ones will always be valuable. Just have to be patient enough for the right buyer to find it.

Her Bronze Age cards did not sell well because they were not up to the standards of Divas, Vampirella, Captain America, etc.

After all this debate, you're not going to tell us how much you got for it?
