Default Something different: Garbage Pail Kids Series 2 Minikins Hobby Box (Black! Peach!)

Hey guys,

Spent $68 and bought a hobby box online, which took a lot of effort to find since Blowout and the usual sites don't even carry them (some sites have RETAIL boxes, but no hobby... weird). Busted mine today and made out very well, though I'm way off from completing a set, sadly. Many painted sculpts still needed, and I got many duplicates (about a quarter were dupes! ouch!).

I did, however, FINALLY get one of the black figures... I wonder if they upped production on these? They still sell for $130+, though. I got a great black sculpt in Double Heather, too. My peach is also sweet, Jolly Roger.

I received 9 blues, 8 greens, and 7 reds. Greens are technically rarer than reds, so I get well. Zero yellows, as they are retail exclusive now (though I did hit a New Wave Dave in the lone retail pack I bought the other day, so score!).

I just saw these figures recently and I love them! I think we may be picking up a few hobby boxes from our distributor. They are very cool.

They always do well with collectors, too. Resale should be nice. Already have a $150 offer on that black and a $25 offer on the peach. I don't sell, though.

Nice! Do the commons typically sell for about $3?

I believe the painted ones do better than the blues/reds, while greens sell for about $5-7 each and yellows $5-10, at least last time... Yellows might go for a higher premium since they are retail only this time. People build sets of the painted ones above all else, so the "base" are always in demand.

Being a hobby exclusive, I thought the odds on the peach would have been a little better than 1/box. Ouch! Congrats on the Double Heather black though, that is a GREAT hit!

I wonder if the "window" characters in the retail window packs are super rare in regular packs, like they were for S1. I haven't seen anything in any of my local stores yet, so I don't know which figures are in the windows (or if those packs even exist).

I saw some at Toys R Us and bought one. I recall Double Heather (bought that one.. a precursor to my pull, I guess!), Yeti Eddie, Clark Shark, and Mad Mike. I only received Double Heather painted in my hobby box, so you may be onto something!
