The artists definitely have their blanks, some have had them long enough to have completed a number of them and gotten them approved so they can start showing scans. I've seen scans from a dozen or so artists so far, if anyone is interested I can post some of the samples in the non sports section here.

I did talk with someone from Upper Deck and they don't have any information at all to give out. The guy on the phone told me to check back in next month to see if they have anything finalized enough so they could send out e-mails or sell sheets with some photos and a checklist. I am really interested in the scans of some of the sketch cards.
The thing that really worries me about the sketches is who will be doing them and in what quantity. If one of the artists from series one only did a handful of sketches but in series two he will be doing 200 does that now de-value his series one sketches? I only bought three boxes of the series one and was planning on keeping all of my sketches but it would stink to know that the Joey Mason sketch I got of spider-Man (Mason only did 20 sketches according to published numbers) which I would guess could go for $150 or so on rip-off-bay if I ever wanted to sell it may go down in value. I hope they at least use some different artists. |

Right there with you. I'm 34. I haven't bought non-sport since 1995. My son who is 4 helped me open a few boxes of cards at Christmas and loved the inserts. He has no concept of value or how to properly take care of cards so I saw the MM series one in the store. I bought a few packs for him and got hooked. Then I bought a box from blowout and now I am hooked on this as well!
