Silver is going to become harder and harder to find in the near future. This Summer should provide at least one more good buying opportunity though.

Are you accumulating silver or looking to buy and sell?

I'll make you a hell of a deal -- I'll give you $1 for every 50 cent piece you have.

Double your money instantly!

(I hope everyone realizes this is a joke, I'm not trying to rip anyone off here).

Silver is up again -- your half might be worth close to $13 now.

Thankfully I've been stocking up myself. Got about 50 oz saved up not including the "junk" silver dimes & quarters.

Hope you can find some.

Pre-1965 are 90% silver and are currently worth approximately 25 times face value.

1965 to 1969 are still 40% silver and are currently worth approx. 10 times face value.

Don't worry about nickels as they are made out of "nickel" instead of silver. That is unless you have some "war nickels". Those have silver in them.

I ate at Hardees today for lunch. My meal was just over $6.00. I handed them $7. I received three quarters. One was dated 1966. It is worth roughly $2.50! So in essence, Hardees gave me back $2.25 too much in change! It's better than using coupons.

Where would one sell all of the pre-1964 coins they do have?
Where can you go or where can you send them to get the best price?

When I was in high school I worked at a drug store & a lady came in with literally 10 or 15 rolls of quarters & she wanted to get cash for them. My manager counted out the rolls & they were ALL 1960 or before quarters. He changed them out & asked me did I want to buy half & told me they'd be worth money some day.

Well it's 10 years later & I still have 7 or 8 rolls of these old 90% quarters.

I think I'll keep holding them for a while, but where is the best place to cash out on them when the time comes?

You can hear silver when it hits other change -- it sounds different.

Other than that -- yeah, buying rolls and getting lucky. She doesn't want to buy machine rolled stuff. Hand rolled stuff by LOLs and LOM will have the 'best' stuff in it.

The other thing she could look for at the bank is fresh (brand new) star notes with the bands still on them. Those sell quickly to collectors.

Quarters dated 1965 or later are all copper-nickel clad coins except for the dual-dated Bicentennial Quarters that were sold by the Mint in special Mint Sets and Proof Sets. These quarters contain 40% fine silver and have an "S" mint mark
