Default Anyone know how to grade a coin?

Does anyone know how to roughly grade a coin as in reference to determine the value of a coin? I was needing a little help with this if anyone can help I would appreciate it.

you will need the other side for a fair grading BUT that looks very worn to my non-expert eye.

without the back to see its between a g4 and a vg8 closer to the 8 with the bold moto but 8 depends on the lines on the skirt
Just at melt its worth half an ounce of silver melt value dont take less than that.

I added a scan of the back. The price guide as this coin at the following prices

VG-8 F-12 VF-20 XF-40 AU-50 MS-60 MS-63 MS-64 MS-65 MS-66 MS-67
40 100 200 275 400 600 1500 2500 8000 24250 55000

I know a MS-67 is Gem Mint and a FR-2 is where you can bearly see the date. So I was wondering if this is like a 12, 20, 40, or 50

That not a bad coin I would give a low VF there's more lee way for those year by NGC and PCGS standers. Then there is the always has it been clean ?

This is the " P " This would have had more value if it had a " D "

today market melt value 1916-1947 Walking Liberty Half Dollar $12.55 + $4. over spot
You should have luck with a buyer ( not me ) around $24. to $27.
