Adriana Melo Sketches

looking for melos gambit and psylocke for marvel premier. i'm not sure if she did a spider-woman, black cat or dr strange base sketch for that set, but i would be interested in those also.

i noticed her psylocke sold for $100 on ebay. missed that auction.

will buy or trade.

if you wish to sell, i'm sure we can agree upon a reasonable price. if you want to trade, please let me know what you are into if you are interested in and i will see what i have.

Just for your info so you don't waste time looking for it, I have the Melo Gambit but it is not for sale/trade.

Black Cat is not a base sketch character, so if she did one it would have to be for the hinged sketches or an AP.

Thank for you for the heads up. I'm more fond of base sketches anyhow. Not to say there are some extremely well done hinged sketches. I wonder if/when ultra pro or another company will make holders for them. I saw some guy on ebay selling custom holders, not sure how they are quality wise.

I'm using the holders from hardball34 (details here: Marvel Permier Hinged Sketch Card Holder ) and they are very nice. Since I let the Premier collectors know about these, one worked with him to get one sized a little tighter for the single and double hinged cards, and they look even better now (I sent him one of my triple-hinged cards on loan so he could get it sized perfectly for those as well). They aren't as cheap as the Ultra-Pros, but I think they are a lot nicer. It's more like a frame for the card than just a "holder".

LOL--yeah, you know my feelings about that one already

I'm not saying I would never move it, but the 4 Melo cards are among my favorite Premier cards I have so they'll be staying put for now.

Right, yeah those are the ones I was referring to. If you vouche for em, i'll probably pick up a few for the hinged in my PC.

I picked it up because I figured should you ever want to let that gambit go, I better have something decent to trade. I respect your stance though. I wouldn't want to let it go either. Amazing sketch. I still can't believe someone sold her psylocke for $100.. really I think it could have sold for $250 at the very least.

correct me if im wrong - but didnt artists do all the base characters?
or are there some artists for this set who did only a few base set characters?

and each base character done only 1 time .. making the melo (and any artist gambit) a 1/1?

I think it was supposed to work that way, but several artists have a lot fewer base sketches. I've only seen a couple Jon Racimo base sketches. Someone heard from Eric Ninaltowski that he only had 16-20 that made it in.

It is true that each artist did not do more than one base sketch for a character (APs excluded).

If you decide to get them, be sure to shoot him a message to let him know what you are wanting these for and the size. He'll be able to hook you up with the right holders.

Upper Deck hasn't published a list or anything, but many artists did not complete the entire base set. Some artists didn't have time to complete them all and were paid for what they did complete and asked to return the remaining blanks. Additionally, as Monkey already pointed out, some cards were rejected by Upper Deck and/or Marvel.

I'm not really into the Green Goblin myself, still I wouldn't mind seeing it, if you wouldn't mind showing it off.
