Clerks was famously shot for a little over $27K, so if there's some aspiring Kevin Smith out there with a good idea for a movie, you can either spend it on doing that, or else on 270 boxes of these cards. I'd generally say just make the movie, but I'd need to see the script first...

This sort of reminds me of the Aliens set at first release where the boxes were over-priced for what ya got, but at least the price gave you a shot at some pretty solid actors with long careers (Weaver, Paxton, Dean Stanton, Henriksen, and Skerritt). But $100 ish for a box with 2 autos and manufactured patch? Doesn't make much sense to me. But the fan side of me is still happy they did the set.
$100 for 2 autos+ sounds about right to me. Alien at $100 didn't even guarantee you 1 auto.

I'm pretty sure that Miramax made the licensing money off this set not Kevin Smith. The Miramax logo is on the back of the sketchcards anyway.

If anyone wants to commission an AP sketchcard from this set let me know. I have one, possibly two. But maybe just one. I'll have to check my stack of blank cards.

Sounds right in that it's expected or that it's reasonable? I agree that it's expected, but not that it's reasonable. Hope it hits e-packs and COMC. That's when I will call it reasonable. haha

I meant reasonable. Most boxes average $80 with only one hit.

Man, there should have been a "Clerks: The Animated Series" subset - then you could have gotten Alec Baldwin and James Woods into the autographs!

Does anyone know who the sketch card artists are for the set? I am wondering if Walt Flanagan is included.

That vertical dual auto design is ugly though.

I think its awesome this set is being made, but the price point is just too high. It will defiantly come down after release. With only a handful of exceptions, all Non Sport UD stuff seems to be about 30%-40% off original pre-order price in the following months..

"I assure you it's fake manufactured patch" checklist....lol. nice one.

Also, sketches should be a hoot here. can't wait to see what artists came up with.

The checklist is pretty awesome. This set looks great. Just don't like the release price. I also think releasing this in May is going to get this set buried too. Too many non-sports products to compete with in my opinion (Thrones, Star Wars, Ultra Spider-Man, Guardians 2, Flash 2, and even the last James Bond looks great).

I like how there are a ton of multi autos and they got just about everyone you would want, unlike so many other sets.

I agree. Great checklist but there is just too many sets coming in May. What's up with UD releasing 3 different non-sport sets in the same month? None of the UD sets are exactly priced in a way that most people can choose to purchase all 3. Obviously the Marvel sets have a collector base already built so Clerks may be the odd set out for most or at least pushed to the side to be picked up later. Black Friday anyone? Of course epacks could change this as well.

ePacks set the standard with Aliens for a release like this (appealing to a more die hard fan base that is relatively smaller compared to the big releases). I don't see how this doesn't go to ePack given the circumstances.

I still don't get epacks and how it works. Like do they just have a randomized set for which cards you get or do they "pack out" what each pack will be in advance?

Don't think UD has ever been that transparent about it. I know that COMC ends up with all the cards, but as far as what is in each pack, I have no idea. I would guess it's some sort of algorithm personally, but it's just a guess.

These are out today. Here are the 8 sketch cards I did for the set... and I believe the ONLY sketch cards that were at the Quick Stop.

(had to blur out my rejected AP )
