The first set had a smaller signer list, but a much stronger signer list in my opinion. Shame there is no Kurt Russel autograph card.

I like the list, and I agree I wish Kurt Russell signed. They have a bunch of Zoe Saldana Autos, you think that will hurt the value of the solo Auto from last set?

I am actually slightly dissapointed if that is accurate...

simply comparing it to the first set which had Rooker, Pratt, Close, Zoe, Pace, Bautista and Hounsou, Gillian...

*Also, I agree, I was hoping for a Sly or Russell suprise...but I was really thinking that Pratt would be defiantly in this one.

Ok, I generally don't collect movie cards, but I REALLY kinda want that Drax/Mantis dual auto.

Just to compare to the original release autograph lineup:

Those in Guardians II:
Chris Pratt as Star-Lord (ABSENT)
Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer (INCLUDED)
Karen Gillan as Nebula (INCLUDED)
Michael Rooker as Yondu (ABSENT)
Zoe Saldana as Gamora (INCLUDED)

Those NOT in Guardians II:
Djimon Hounsou as Korath (Obviously Not Included)
Glenn Close as Nova Prime (Obviously Not Included)
Lee Pace as Ronan (Obviously Not Included)

That's ok, Chris Pratt will sign along with Bryce Dallas Howard, and Jeff Goldblum for the Jurassic World 2 set

*fingers crossed that it will be a thing*

Upperdeck Matt, please stop allowing upperdeck to replace real hits (aitographs, sketch cards) with glorified manufactured hits like "Groots Roots". They are fine as additional hits, but are no replacement for an autograph or sketch.

Shame about the lack of Chris Pratt this time around, I'd like a Mantis auto though. I'm also not a fan of the manufactured hits.

They had a 9-Way relic card as well in the first series.

I think the bottom line here is that there was just more higher end hits in the first series then this one.

Pratt's auto alone commands $400-$700 and the 9 Way relic also commanded a larger premium along with Glen Close auto's as well....just not feeling like there will be any monster pulls in this stuff without Pratt..

Maybe the Saldana/Gillan is the biggest in the set?

3!?!? How much product did you break? Or was he easier to hit like Jones in Rogue One S1?

Really glad I didn't have my shop special order me a case of this as that checklist could never touch the case of Guardians I had back in 2014 even if it tried.

Can just save for some Flash boxes now

Without getting into too much detail, here is what I can say on autographs. We always aim to try and get as many actors as possible. There are a million reasons why someone does/doesn't sign. We need to have alternative content in order to fill those voids without devaluing the current content.

Example: If we only had 4 signers for "Release X", but had autographs falling in every box of a 12 box case, you would have multiples of the same auto cards in every case. This analogy also applies to sketch cards, as I have stated before in my discussion about Fleer Ultra Spider-Man. By reducing the quantity of sketch cards, we are able to increase the quality of the sketch cards overall, and increase the value to the consumer.

So to limit the amount of a specific design (auto cards or sketches) so they can maintain value and rarity, we need to add something else to those oddball boxes that are missing things like Sketches and Autographs. I always try to bake something new into products to keep them fresh. If every product was a carbon copy of itself, it would get rather boring very fast. Groots Roots is something new that we haven't (at least I haven't) done before.

Just has one question, from the odd i can see that Groot cards falls around 2 per case, sketch 2-3 per case, autograph 3 per case . What about the other 4 boxes? And btw there is no relic autograph in this set?

Groots Roots = Webbing card from Ultra Spidey? Am I wrong? Maybe not identical, but it's the same idea.

I have no problemore with you guys developing new hits, but you have to know replacing a sketch or autograph with a manufactured relic is hurting the value of your product, not helping it.

Personally, I'd rather have a multi swatch costume card as the premium hit over a manufactured card. So I'd rather have a box with a single relic + a quad relic than a box with a single relic + a Groot's root
